## Description

The original lumbar pack, the Tour is known for 40 years of function-first design. Today, Mountainsmith introduces a new take on this classic, built with Delta Wing Compression and revamped for more efficient storage on and off the trail.

Review: Worth every penny - I do a lot of research when I buy things, including reading reviews. I looked at this and the Tour SM and decided on this because it was actually much cheaper and I liked the colors. I have issues with my neck and shoulders, and day packs or one shoulder bags just aggravate. I returned the Drift version because it was too small to hold a bigger journal or book. I'm a petite woman, and I think the Tour Small would probably have fit me better, but I thought I could always cinch this larger bag down to a smaller size. I used this on three short hikes with a dog and I LOVE it. Extremely well designed, with pockets in the right places, especially a "hidden one in the front. It has more room than I would need for a short hike. It can hold more than I'd ever need unless on a long flight or hike. It also sits up when on the ground, which is nice. I had to cinch it quite a bit because it is designed for larger waists, but it worked. Super high-quality and thoughtful design. My one critique is that it is a little heavier and it has a neoprene sleeve that I didn't need. I'd almost make that removable if I designed the next version. I also love how easy it is to stow the lumbar straps so that it can just be a day bag. Hiking or walking with a dog and a kid and hands free is a game changer. I expect to use this as well while traveling. I wish I got this years ago.
Review: Very good bag. - I also own a Drift and use it to carry - just the essentials. When I need to carry a lot more, the drift is used as part of a two-bag system, and it works great in that capacity. This brings me to the tour. It works well as the second bag in my configuration. It also works great as a daily bag going to and from the office -- with or without the Drift. With the Tour, it is possible to carry 32 oz of water and a smaller "Thermos" for soup or oatmeal; all without using the main pocket. Keys, cell phone, wallet, office badge, PPE, Purell, lunch, and a large medical pouch easily fit into the remaining pockets. The waist belt is a nice-to-have for long walks between buildings. Most of the time, the shoulder strap works best, for me. I have a number of bags, but the tour is probably the best, for general use. Highly recommended.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Large waist bag.
*by S***E on November 8, 2023*

Not the largest Mountainsmith offers, but a very good sized day bag. I use it as a walk around bag for camera equipment. I also enhance it with the optional strappettes. The weight of the heavy camera/lens is borne on my hips, the strappettes and other adjustment straps keep it upright and pulled into my back. I can strike a great balance without straining my back or shoulders. Just slip arms out of straps and slide the bag to the front for easy access or when I need to sit down. For comfort while carrying heavy items it just can not be beat. When I need to carry extra clothing, rain gear or a bulky sweater, I use my larger Mountainsmith Day bag. I have found them both to be durable but lightweight. I am not a fan of the front panel on this one in the place of another zipped pocket, but it does offer zipped storage, I would just rather have the panel secured differently than the top shock cord attachment. A minor gripe, but there it is. I do really like this bag, there is little that compares to it for carrying comfort.
