And honestly with my family I did not expect these to last. Seriously I at least thought the microwave, but it didn't happen. 3 in college and 2 at home and this set has held it's own. A: It is not microwave safe. It has a shiny silver trim around the edge. Noritake also mentioned not to use any dish wash detergent or soap with citric.

**Q: Are those two colors silver and dark blue or silver and black?**
A: Silver & Black -- very attractive.

**Q: Is this a "white" white or ivory color white?**
A: "White" not ivory -- very nice looking with the platinum (silver color) trim.

**Q: What are the sizes (diameter) of the 3 size plates?**
A: Willy, these beautiful plates measure: Dinner plate - 10 1/2" Salad/Bread Plate - 8 1/2 " and the Cup saucer - 6". I hope this helps to decide to purchase the Austin Platinum. After I received my set I immediately bought a second set. They have been used twice since arriving for large dinner parties. All of my guests complimented them.

This set is very beautiful and worth the money you spend. The design of the plate is suitable for daily use. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Okay set overall, good for its price point

Everything arrived well-packed and nothing was broken. I read some other reviews about the patterns not quite lining up and can confirm that this is the case with many of the pieces. Theres a small gap where the dots ringing the items don't come together properly and a couple of the pieces of trim are off a bit. Its not too noticeable unless you're specifically looking at the patterns but it is there and it is common and it is a screw-up. Still, they look good and they work. Used them once so far and I got compliments on them. And they're some of the cheapest decent looking sets out there so you get what you pay for. I'll probably pick up another 2 or 3 place settings and some of their overpriced add-ons to complete the set. If you don't have tons of cash to spend on nice dinnerware, this is a contender.
