A sandpaper pencil pointer, used for sharpening pencils and graphite leads for drawing and sketching. A: Yes, the sketch pad and the watercolor pad are in the travel case

A: Pastel pencils are similar to colored charcoal pencils

A: It’s certainly no light weight product I’d say when full at least 1lb if not 2lbs.

**Q: what is the size of the zipper case?**
A: I couldn’t tell you exactly but the 6”x9” sketch pad fits nicely inside. Guessing I’d say it’s at least 8”wide (closed) and 10 to 11” in height. 
Everything fits nicely and securely nothing is cramping. It’s an excellent product for beginners and avid artist.
