I actually used the switch as a test switch on an electric hot water boiler that I had installed. I test the boiler at the beginning and the middle of the heating system. The switch allows me to bypass the thermostat control in order to hand operate the boiler. It allows me to take amp readings of each individual heating element to access the complete boiler operation without having to change the thermostat setting.
