The helix skimmer comes with a 2" bulk head fitting. The default is for the placement of it to be pre-drilled and pre-installed, leaving you with 2" FPT on each side of the bulk head, but we can, by request, provide the skimmer with no hole drilled for custom sized or located drilling of your own later. The 2" bulkhead fitting would still come with it, but it would be up to you whether you used it or not. We also offer options and customizations. Don't hesitate to ask. The hole for the included bulk head fitting is at the perfect spot for a typical vertical submersible pump like the Helix, ShinMaywa, Tsurumi, or Big Frog pumps and the Helix Check Valve assembly which is a pre-configured plumbing kit that makes installation of any of these pumps or others of a similar size and shape SUPER EASY. (see this on our you tube video). However, we can also send out the Helix skimmer without the pre-drilled hole if someone requests it that way. If not, can it be fitted to do so?** A: We do not recommend that you run your bottom drain thru the Helix Skimmer as that will not allow you to control how much water comes thru the skimmer and how much comes thru the bottom drain. Instead, we recommend an exterior pump with a three-way valve on the front, pulling water from the Bottom Drain and from the skimmer. This allows you to turn either up or down to control how much water comes thru each. It is a much better way to do it. Thank you** A: Hello, Actually the autofill and blue pad are options that are not included with the skimmer from the factory. If you specifically mention it, however (and i only say that as someone may see the answer to this question a year from now and i may not remember having said this) Practical Garden Ponds will gladly include one blue pad and a standard autofill. Other dealers may be willing to do the same but make sure to purchase from a dealer who has agreed to this ahead of time.
