However after using it i feel that the X-Dante card is the one they should bundle with the x32. I started using Waves Multirack with my x32 months ago but the latency from USB or Firewire made it next to impossible to use live and only being able to send audio to one PC made me choose between tracking a show and using waves. Now with Dante I can send the Audio to as many systems as I want and best part of it the latency on ASIO is 4ms max with an avg of 1.6ms. Should you buy this? Well if you need the low latency and versatility of being able to use standard IP networks to push audio to the X32 then Yes. If you have a X-UF card and don't do anything more than tracking the 32ch from the x32 then its a maybe. The Aviom system, on the other hand, uses β€œA-Net” protocol. A network bridge that can convert AES50 into A-Net is required to use the X32 with an Aviom system. **Q: Can i use waves multirack on one laptop and record at the same time on a second laptop? do i need a switch for that or direct connection works?** A: Gabriel,Hi. Dante is basically a network protocol. The Dante card for the X32 has 2 Cat5 connectors on it - a primary and a secondary. You can plug 1 laptop into each connector, or you can plug a gigabit switch into one of the connectors and then feed the laptops from there. Then you can plug in multiple Dante-enabled machines and you can route any input or output to/from any device.I just use 2 laptops into the Dante card to record 2 copies of live shows. One is a backup. You need to download the Virtual Dante Soundcard software onto each machine for them to work. It's $25 for each machine. You also have to download Dante routing software onto at least one machine. The routing software is where you assign each output from the X32 to feed the input of each laptop for recording. You can also route the output of one of the laptops to the X32 channel inputs. The Dante network is really just a software routing system.I hope this helps.
