A deep and enriching read!
We all have come to witness an era where we tend to question the many teachings that we have either born or grown up with. We have come to a point to realize that science or technology has very little power to stop the forces of this universe. The prevailing pandemic is a classic example. It is when the book like this comes handy to give us a completely new perspective about our own lives and existence in this world.“Samsara the wheel of birth death and rebirth” by Rebecca Harrison was a deep yet interesting read and took me some time to read it. Following her partner, Rob’s death the author Rebecca has stepped forward to find answers for all those unanswered questions regarding life, death, and life after death. It is rare for someone to be as exploratory as Rebecca is, and I believe her academic background would have resulted in these traits. The book brings many Asian teachings like Buddhism and Hinduism together and provides an analytical presentation about their teachings on birth, death, and rebirth, along with the views of other authors as well. I was surprised by the number of books that the author has referenced regarding the subject, which reflects the intellectual capabilities of the author. The author’s travel experiences on each of these spiritual destinations were equally interesting and would be a useful guide for anyone who wishes to explore the countries she visits.

An excellent and impressive piece!
Religion and spirituality are aspects that have always lingered in many people's minds, as they all try and figure out what exactly the two terms mean. For many years I have read so many books on spirituality and its connection to consciousness. Still, they all seem to be the same wine in different bottles. However, "Samsara - the Wheel of Birth, Death and Rebirth: A journey through spirituality, religion and Asia” is one of a kind. When I started reading this book, I did not know what to expect; however, after keenly going through chapter one, I couldn't put it down! There is so much history, explanation and genuinely thought of arguments about the aspect of consciousness and its relation to spirituality and religion. The author provides excellent insights about how some substances like those used by psychedelics and mysticism as well as science reveal and provide evidence of the connection between spirituality and consciousness.Samsara made it all a success for the book. However, I only had little knowledge about it, and the author provided important and elaborate information that made it clear and easy to understand the workings of Samsara. The different explained cultures make the book more attracting and enjoyable to read, as the reader gets to know more than just their lifestyles.Other than its uniqueness, the book has an engagement with the reader, as one keeps on thinking about their own beliefs about how people get born, die, and get reborn again. The book is perfectly structured, with impeccable grammar and sentence structure making it a comfortable and attractive read. I highly recommend it!!

A fascinating and diverse view about Samsara!
Rebecca Harrison gives us a fascinating insight into Eastern spirituality in Samsara: The Wheel of Birth, Death, and Rebirth! Harrison explores Eastern philosophy about Samsara, our trapped state of wandering and reincarnation. This book draws you in as it’s one part informational, one part travel guide, and one part story! I really enjoyed Harrison’s blend and getting to see some diverse views about Samsara and life in general! If you haven’t already read Samsara in a past life, then be sure to check it out in this one!

A fascinating journey through Asia and its religions and cultures.
For the uninitiated like me Rebecca Harrison's Samsara, the Wheel of Birth, death and Rebirth gives a fascinating insight into the belies and ideas of Asian religions particularly Hinduism and Buddhism. the author seeks to understand the tenets of these religions to find meaning for the agonising loss of her partner.Samsara is a personal spiritual journey as well as a profound meditation on that core issue of existence, its meaning and purpose. The book poses many questions that challenge but take the journey with Rebecca as you will be rewarded with teachings and concepts that open a whole new perspective on the way you see the world. The thorough research evident in the book both supports and illustrates the author's deep respect and interest in her subject. Rebecca's exploration of Samsara, central to both Hinduism and Buddhism and those peoples who practise these religions, is well argued and described with great clarity which ensure a better understanding of beliefs perhaps never contemplated by readers such as myself. As one living in the material environment of a wealthy western society, I found Samsara, the wheel of Birth, Death and Rebirth accessible and most enlightening. It has provided me with much to ponder.Rachel Letts
