The soles provide good support and protect well from walking all day on concrete. For walking on concrete a boot with a good shank is a must. This one is good.The tongue folds fall on my ankles which creates a "hard" spot. I am hoping they soften up a bit with wear. They rubbed my heals raw the first 2 weeks, but fit like a glove now. They work great on construction sites. Dirt, mud, metal grates, rocks, smooth slippery laminate floors, I have worn these boots through all of this on plant sites. They do fit small. I had to return the first pair for a wide EE size and even that is too narrow. They did however break in after a few weeks. It was worth the callus on the side of my toe. Seriously. For this price you're getting high quality.
