Garlic an Capscasin smell that mammals and insects loathe
I read an article on Disney World and how they rid their park of mosquitos. Upon learning that they utilized a garlic spray, I immediately went into research mode. I found this formula and have been purchasing it ever since. I have found that it works great and even burns if it gets on you due to the capscasin (derived from the seeds of hot peppers).I have also discovered that it not only keeps mosquitos away, but also mammals. Anything that has taste buds (so no birds) will avoid the area of this spray. If they do bite into it, they quickly go into a tongue flapping routine to spit it out and then associate the smell as NOPE, forever.I spray it on any vegetation that my wife wishes to protect from deer, rabbits, squirrels, and any other creature that enjoys munching on her plants and garden. As for myself, I've used it to protect my fruit trees/bushes every year (the only thing I wish is that I knew about this product a year prior). No mosquitos or other leafy consuming insects; No plant and garden destroyers. No fuss and long lasting.Cons:Having said the above, it is best to spray this when you know it wont be raining for a stretch of time or else you'll be reapplying it after each rain to keep up with it's effectiveness. If you let this stuff sit on your skin, you'll become sensitive in that area until you wash it off.

Some tips
I have just moved into a house. The yard was full of viscous mosquitoes, every time I went outside, I would return with at least 7 new bites. Unfortunately I'm delicious. After researching options, I decided to go with Garlic Barrier and give it a try. This is June in Louisiana. Hot, muggy, buggy. Some tips:*Be prepared for some intense garlic. The smell is really overwhelming for some people, but the good news is that it dissipates really quickly!*Proper mixing ratio: 50:1= 2.6oz per gallon. So, I'm not too bright and accidentally mixed the wrong ratio. I ended up putting over double the GB in the 2gal sprayer I bought, perhaps even triple. While I was spraying, I was getting chewed up. I was hoping this would act like repellent and give me some relief, but that was not the case. I was going where the mosquitoes already were and even though I might have smelled bad to them, I was still basically presenting them food. No fault of the product there. After I sprayed every square foot of the yard and bushes and fence and 3ft up each tree trunk, I was worn out. I was glad that the smell in the house had returned to normal, for the most part and I really couldn't smell the outside except in slight hints every so often when I was out there.A few days later, some friends came over to help clean up the yard. I was worried because when I came outside, they were taking a break in the shade of one of the trees, where I got a large majority of my bites while spraying. I walked over and there was not one mosquito. Not one!I am going to use the proper mixing ratio from now on, derp, and really look forward to getting bitten less when I'm outside for longer than two seconds. I would say give it a shot. This doesn't hurt bees and is worth the trouble.

It definitely helps the yard.
It doesnt last very long, especially after it rains, but I’ll reapply as often as neccessary just so i don't have to use toxic chemicals.

This stuff works!
This stuff works. I have been trying to get rid of Mosquitoes for years and a good dose of this did the trick. It’s worth the price and makes enough for several applications.

Didnt work & I plastered this all over
I like the smell. The garlic fades in scent rather quickly so it isnt overwhelming.I purchased a ½ gallon sprayer and used this FREQUENTLY! On my outdoor couch, floors, plants, table, clothes, dirt ground, play equiptment, all around my door where the skeeters accumulate! I even dumped it in our outdoor evap cooler so it wafted the scent all over (I keep mosquito pellets in there and bleach when not in use)... I was desperate for this to work, twice a day going out and spraying while my kids played. It didnt work. Not even a bit. The skeeters just didnt care. I did this religiously for a week as I NEEDED to justify the hefty cost to my husband... 😬No. Alas. Doesnt work on AZ mosquitos. Tried it in our garden and I didnt notice a decrease in bugs. Read somewhere the garlic needs to be ingested in order for it to be effective (added sweetners). But I already wasted a bunch of 💸 here so just got some low-level DEET to spray on clothes. Darn it. That works. I REFUSE to kill my yard bugs! I need them! I so wanted this to work.On plus side, it does not smell bad, doesnt stain and doesnt make garden food smell or taste bad at all. So maybe it would be better aimed at protecting produce (as it is marketed to do). Just doesnt work against out mosquito population.Again, I didnt want to kill our garden bugs so I cannot speak to that aspect of it's perported claim, but I aim to try this when we have our a annual caterpiller moth invasion that destroys my mountain laurels. 🤞I am only mildly upset because I like that this concept exists and I want to not be too negative. I hope that is ok.

This is amazing
Greatest find ever. Mosquitos gone the next day and don't bother you for weeks. You dont smell the garlic spray at all.You use very little solution so the jug lasts along time. But store in a shed and not your garage unless you love the smell of garlic. Don't hesitate to buy this product. We have had multiple people try it and their kids can play outside at night now without getting eaten alive.
