I bought a 12V 5A wall wart power supply here on Amazon and works great.. This will work with a 12v 2A power supply but a 12v 5A power supple give you more power you can defenently hear. Do not use any power supply under 2A rating. It will not work. **Q: Does the low pass crossover for the bass control also serve as the high pass control for the main channels, or is it set at a fixed point?** A: I don't know the answer exactly. But... I am using a midrange Dayton Speaker and 4 dayton 40w Exciters. 2 Per L/R channel to form a 8 ohm speaker. I would not use 4 ohm speakers with the amp. It works but over drives the speakers. As you tune up the frequency of the midrage speaker you hear more of the midrange which is the voice. Voice does come out of the Exciters but at very high fequencies. Together this combo sounds rich and a full boddied sound. You have to play around with the setting to get the right effect for your tast. **Q: Pairing issues** A: Not with mine. **Q: will this work with a passive subwoofer (meaning a non powered subwoofer)? does does the subwoofer need to be powered?** A: It should work in principle. The output for the subwoofer is powered, just like the other outputs it has a speaker connector. What I couldn't tell you is how well it will drive the subwoofer since I don't know the characteristics of the subwoofer. The subwoofer output is listed as 100W but I would take that figure with a grain of salt.
