Arrived mostly assembled, where all I really had to do was attach the bar and the stand, then adjust to my preferences. I was looking for a small desk that was small enough to fit in my makeshift closet recording space for voice work, with no luck. Stumbling on this stand, looking at the pics and reviews, I thought I'd give it a chance and I ordered it. It fits perfectly into my little closet studio and has been perfectly sturdy enough to hold a keyboard, a mouse, a preamp, and a microphone + mic stand. I've used it for a few recording sessions now and am happy to say it has both remained sturdy and has not worsened my sound space.The bamboo is a nice touch, the bar adjusts easily, the wheels have locking mechanisms, and all the tools (plus extra parts) were included. I think this is a great product so far and can definitely recommend if you're interested in something small and adjustable, but sturdy. It comes with extra parts so don't worry when you see them in the plastic bag. It took about 5 minutes to put it together by myself.I bought this product because I often have to lay on my side, due to chronic pain, and I am a big reader. I was hoping it would be able to be at an angle, so I could easily read while on my side. I am able to get it at the proper angle to assist me. In fact, it can go from landscape to portrait and all the way back around to landscape again (see video). It works beautifully when I am reading while I am sitting up too. It takes the pressure of of my arms, back, shoulders, and neck. It went together well, it adjusts in every direction I need it do, it seems sturdy, and my 14 inch Macbook Pro laptop has plenty of room and seems secure. (I got the 15X11 version.)Here's the rub: the swing arm is only about 7 inches in length from the upright support. It joins in the middle of the board, so the board provides a few more inches, but the horizontal extension is basically a maximum of a foot from the vertical upright pole to the outside edge of the board (depending on the angle of the board). This means that it's not going to extend far over the chaise chair I plan to use it with. I'm concerned that I'm going to be twisted in my chair in order key on my laptop.A possible solution is the clamp-arm version by the same company. It has a longer horizontal extension and looks like I might be able to just take that arm piece and put it on the upright pole from this version. The clamp-arm version has a horizontal extension of about 22 inches, according to the listing here in Amazon. I expect there might be stability issues.
