I ordered one initially that had the issue, so I ordered a replacement, which unfortunately has the same issue. The issue is when the lamp is plugged in, but not turned on, the lamp sounds inside like it has electricity running through it, like a short-circuit. When the lamp is on the sound dissapears, but when you turn it off you can hear the electricity sound inside. Because of this I don't feel safe leaving the lamp plugged in since it may start a fire if the short circuit extends. I'm going to return both lamps that I received. **Q: Can you replace with a higher watt bulb? According to a review you need 15 for the salt to really do it's job.** A: It is a C7 socket you need a bulb that will fit it. Good luck on finding one at a higher wattage. **Q: Do the salt rocks get warm to the touch? Does it have to be on full power to heat them?** A: Honestly-- I never touched them! **Q: Does anyone have a hard time with the power button? Difficult to get mine to come on** A: I did at first. My solution was to keep it it turned on after I managed to turn it on the first time. I always wanted a salt lamp but I did not want one of those big chunky rocks with a wooden base looking lamp. Those just felt so out of date, although classic, I like the minimalist modern look of this. I have never seen a salt lamp look like this. It’s like the 2018 version of a Himalayan salt lamp.It’s white, the encasing is plastic but looks like glass, it’s clear and it usb powered. Instead of a big fat heavy rock, it comes with a bunch of different broken up pieces of Himalayan salt. I love how each piece is unique. It comes bagged up and u can arrange the rocks any way u want inside the plastic jar/encasing. The tiny light bulb is protected and encased inside the jar so it won’t be crushed by the salt rocks. It even comes with another extra bulb.Another cool thing is that it’s dimmable! One touch operation! U touch it once to turn on and off. Hold down the ultra modern button and it dims light to dark. It’s honestly the perfect night light. And it’s good for u! Just google the benefits of Himalayan salt lamps. Maybe it’s a placebo effect but I’m here laying in bed typing this while its on next to me and I honestly feel good already lol. I bought a salt lamp last summer and my mom was very interested in it, this is a great one for her because it's the perfect size for her bedside table and is easily moved to the office desk when she's working. I believe she likes the look a lot too, but she is my mom so she probably wouldn't say otherwise lol. Since we've only had it for a day I cannot rate it's durability yet, it looks well made though. If it suddenly brakes I'll update my post, but I doubt there will be an issue. My only small complaint is that I thought it would glow a little bit brighter, I might see if I can use a slightly brighter bulb but haven't checked if that would work with the unit. It's not enough for me to knock it to a 4 star though, I think it's more of a personal preference. After we try this one for a while we may get another to keep on the desk! BUT there's some complications. The power button does not function properly. It won't turn off without unplugging it. When trying to turn it on it is a struggle. The dimming option doesn't work 98% of the time. But it's so beautiful.... I'm hoping it's a defect and that it will be made right. If it is I will be returning to update this review.**UPDATE** Customer service is an absolute delight to work with! They are kind and quick to respond. They sent me a replacement lamp as quick as they could. The replacement lamp works perfect and without flaw. It's absolutely gorgeous! I'm not sure about the health benefits of the product of not, but it gives me a sense of calm. It could be in my head or it could be the magic of the lamp! I would definitely recommend this lamp to others and actually have. If you dont believe in the health benefits accompanied by this lamp then you will at least love how gorgeous it is when lit.
