Best bang for your buck!
As an IT person, I love to have a small switch in my bag at all times because sometimes it can be the difference between a fruitful troubleshooting session or a complete waste of time. My old go-to was the DGS-1005G as it was a no-frills cheap 5 port Gb switch that took up almost no space. But now, I have found this nice little switch. It is even smaller, fits in the palm of my hands and almost half the price. I have attached a picture of the size comparison. As you can see by the picture, the brash is barely over 3.5 inches wide. It is perfect for those tight places for temporary testing and if you need to get on a ladder, you don't have to worry about dropping a full 1u 19inch wide switch or worse yet, falling off the ladder because you only have one hand to go up the ladder. As far as performance, it is just fine for what you are getting. Obviously you aren't buying a non-blocking switch with a multi-Tb backplane so don't expect to run your datacenter servers off this thing. I have also attached two screen shots showing my speed out to the internet through each switch and out my powerline at home. This isn't the most optimal scenario for showing testing, but theoretically, if all the other factors are the same besides the switch, then the results should reflect the switch performance for the most part. Also please note that the speeds are what I am getting through the switch and out my powerline and out to the internet so the raw speed is not reflective of either switches performance. The delta between the two switches is what I want to bring attention to. From the screenshots, the brash switch is the one with 11ms ping time and the dlink switch is the one with 12ms ping time. The ping time was a little surprising for me as I thought that they would be identical as most of these switches use the same chipsets but to my pleasant surprise, the brash one was 1ms faster. In real world situations, 1ms doesn't mean much when dealing with environments that you would use these switches in but it is still a plus to the brash. As far as throughput, you can see that the dlink switch seems to have a little better download speed while the brash seems to have a bit better upload speed. These results were consistent through multiple tests for my units. Overall, I would say that the speed differences are again negligible for real world applications that you would use these switches for.The main conclusion I have is that both switches are just about the same in functionality and performance for the environments that you would expect to use these BUT the winner for me is the brash due to the tiny size and the PRICE. I got my brash for 10.99. The dlink is 18.99 on amazon. The dlink is over 72% more expensive! No brainer for me.

No speed issues, I like the compact size
I got this several months back. Works fine and passes my full 117/12 internet speed. I have a desktop PC, an HP inkjet all-in-one and a Brother laser printer hooked up to this. The two printers I have hooked up to this sometimes drop their connections and I have to power cycle them to get my computer to see them, not sure if it has anything to do with this switch. I config'ed the printers to use a static IP to see if that helps any.I really like the tiny, compact size!

Cant ask for better at this size and price
Got this guy for 15 bucks to use at the office. Our network guys only gave us one drop (drop is a fancy term for an ethernet port) and I needed to connect several devices. This switch really is very small and lightweight. The body is made of plastic but it feels very sturdy. Connecting it was no problem. Just plugged it in and it worked right away. It does not get hot at all, even under heavy loads. Ive used it for 2 weeks now and it has not disconnected, failed or needed a restart.

Portable, great for road warriors
Fantastic size for travelling, small enough to be tucked away behind my tv stand. Does not heat up, no issue so far, been using this for about a week now. No issues with a blue ray player, smart tv, ps4, and apple tv. No hang time, no lag. Will recommend it to my friends.

Tiny, and it works
I used this switch to replace a failing unmanaged switch for my media center. The unit itself is about the size of a pack of cigarettes, being slimmer and a bit wider. The wall wart power supply takes up as much space in the packaging. Most of the exterior is piano black plastic and looks attractive enough. Port 5 goes to your internet router leaving you with four ports for devices. I stream 1080 through my FireTV without hiccups, and have an Xbox One and XBox 360 hooked up to it as well. All download/streaming speeds are improved over speed from my ancient switch I replaced. Due to it's size this switch could be used for travel, most likely packing it around for LAN parties or IT guys to troubleshoot networks. I bought it because it is dirt cheap, does the job, and I don't have five or more devices at that point on my network. I prefer metal enclosures, but at this price point If I need another hub in another room I will buy a second one of this same model.

So far so good.
This switch is tiny. Can pretty much put this anywhere, the picture on your computer screen is probably the size of this in real life. It is plastic and feels cheap, but it works, plain and simple. To get the highest speed, hook up your source ethernet to LAN1. Discovered this with other switches I have... wondered why I was only getting 93ish mbps. Now getting full internet speed from Comcast.

Forgot it was there!
Small, lightweight but works great. Forgot I had it behind the TV until I found this comment request in my Amazon account. Would defnintely buy again. using it as a network splitter in the Living room. Have one LAN cable to the area. Use the switch to split it to go to all the devices there so I don't use of all the WiFi bandwidth on things I can connect to Ethernet and get faster results. use it with the Smart TV, Amazon FireTV box and the DVR. Will be adding another box soon. Size of a deck of cards, takes up no space, doesn't generate much heat you really just forget it's there.

Packs a lot of punch for the price point...
I was skeptical about this Desktop Ethernet Gigabit Switch since priced so low. BUT my skepticism was shelved within minutes of installing in my home network. The unit is really small but packs a punch. Transfer speeds are excellent. No heat either. Have all ports in use...I will certainly buy another in the near future!
