I have completely wiped the brush clean with a paper towel to start fresh and it happen again. Something has changed. The inner mechanism that wipes the brush of excess mascara isn't doing it's job. I hate when brands change something that used to work so well. I like this product. I gave it a 4 star rating, because it has been a good product. However this particular mascara packaging had the date 2017 on it. The color of the tube was solid blue, instead of the current two-tone blue.
