If you push it without baby on it, it will move but vibrates across the surface. Its never moved with baby inn it even if i try, like to get a gap between the wall and it to get an accurate weight. I think it's pretty safe and stable. My baby is 18 pounds now and its still plenty solid even with his great big wiggles. **Q: Would you recommend using a changing pad cover with this product? i have burt's bees baby solid changing pad cover in mind.** A: We use it without a cover. The padding fairly firm and lightly pebbled. Our little one had a blowout and it took me probably 5 minutes of scrubbing HARD with a magic eraser to get it off. For that reason, we now leave a folded receiving blanket on the scale at all times. The mounts that hold the rubber padded feet are made of very delicate plastic. If you move the scale across a counter or surface, you have to LIFT and PlACE it to avoid breaking them. When one of the feet broke on our scale, we reached out to Hatch via chat and they offered to replace it totally free and had us simply discard the broken unit. When the replacement arrived, it also had a broken foot. We contacted them again via chat and they again sent out a replacement. We had to update the scale's firmware through the app but once we did that, we're up and running again.
