I used one of those cheapo foam like brushes from the dollar store to apply all of the paint. It's true fabric acrylic paint, so it bends and moves and has NOT crunched up or flaked... and it has done a better than expected job of adhering to the fabric of the suitcase, the fabric handle, the plastic outside lining, even the plastic wheels and the plastic and metal pull-out handle! When I first painted, it was very easy to apply and saturated, the paint dries fairly quickly which made it a quicker process to add layers.
