Filled a hole in my siding
It took a bit of patience to get that stuff to stick and fill the hole but I finally persevered. I didn't take a before picture of the hole because I didn't think it would work because it had nothing to grab hold of, but I started at the edge and spread it with a butter knife and it finally attached to itself and stopped falling off. My hole was approximately 2 1/2 inches long by 1 inch tall. I didn't even attempt the gash above it because I was more interested in the hole.My next issue was painting it. I bought some acrylic paint and it was hard to match since the siding is sky blue, (and hard to find anything at your local stores during the pandemic) so I mixed in a bit of white. I'm still slightly off on the color but at least it's not a glaring hole now.I smoothed it with a wet knife and when it dried I tried to sand it but I stopped because the dried putty started to come off.

mostly good - dry, flacky, small amount for the price
It feels less moist than other ready compounds. Sort of like spreading playdoe. At times it flakes off. It worked and looks good, but for the price it doesn't seem worth it.

Great to repair holes in walls
I had replaced an old round thermostat with a new programmable one. The wallboard was not in great shape so I patched it with the spackle that changes color. Then, that was replaced by an alarm company with another thermostat and they butchered my wall. Finally, their thermostat loosened from the wall and I had to repair it. I wanted stronger spackle and I tried the 3M. It worked perfectly. I replaced the fasteners in the wall with the new spackle and let it dry. They were rock solid. I screwed in the thermostat tightly and the spackle held. It's been a few months and the thermostat hasn't moved. Be aware that the spackle is extremely light and before I opened it, I thought it had dried out. It was the perfect consistency, light, soft and held it's shape. I would definitely buy it again.

Better than normal spackle
Review of 3M High Strength Large Hole Repair, Fiber Reinforced Spackling Compound, 12 oz.I had a large crack than ran from ceiling to half-way down the bathroom wall, an inch from the corner. This spackle, having fibers, works much better than normal spackle. Easy to work with, can be painted over without a primer first. I'm a novice at something like this and it turned out looking very good. My only mistake was buying a tub that was too small, so I had to get a second one. I used a 4" putty knife to smooth it out.

Fantastic high-strength drywall repair, especially around electrical outlet cutouts
I have an old house with plaster and lath walls. Cutting any new openings for electrical outlets or low-voltage wiring is always tricky. the old plaster crumbles leaving jagged edges around the cutout.Filling in these rough edges with Joint compound doesn't work well as the joint compound has very little strength when dry. This 3M product has little fibers you can see in it which really seem to help provide a good structural repair of the rough edges around the outlet opening. The product sticks well too. I spray down the rough plaster with a light mist of water before applying the 3M spackling compound so the old plaster doesn't dry out the spackle too quickly. (Please note, this misting and repair work is done *before* installing the electrical box or wires!)Workability is excellent. The 3M compound has the consistency of cake frosting. It's spreadable, but it stays where you put it.This is definitely one of the best old house wall repair products I've run across in many years.

Wow, works great
This stuff feels and kneads nicely like clay, but inotially feels like it is going to fall off, but no, it stays put, hardens nice sticks like epoxy once dried. Holy cow is it strong with excellent adhesion. Do yourself a favor and clean your tools when done because I had a heck of a time chipping it off of my stainless putty knives! Dries in a day. On day 2 I did some touch up work and found that water washes the tools nicely before it dries. I used it to touch up some holes in plaster I cut for electrical boxes.
