With lower quality bits they usually show some wear when drilling into these solid walls. Based on my limited use and experience with these I highly recommend them. Draper are a high quality high value brand which I've been shown time and time again that I can rely on to get the job done. I really appreciate the drill bit storage case, it feels and looks nice and is strong, the opening is a slider then the lid simply lifts and the strength is durable with good quality build material and design, so these drill bits dont come in your usual flimsy hard cheap plastic cases that breaks as soon as you look at it which even some high end brand names provide. Everything about this is great quality in my opinion and will serve me fine for my DIY purposes for many years to come. I actually think these could be just as good if not better than many low end diamond coated ones. Well worth the money and highly recommended! Mine are very hard and strong, the bricks that is.** A: I have used these now for around 9months in a property I’m doing up, these have been perfect for drill brick and brick walls, these will not drill lintels but are good for jobs like drilling holes to fit an outside light installing brackets for kitchen units and fitting a stair rail. Have the storage box Is a bonus aswell because it keeps them all together. **Q: Can you drill into stud walls with these?** A: you could use these drills for stud walls, but wood drills will do the job just as well. stud walls are only plaster and timber, so any drill will do. **Q: Are these universal** A: These are suitable for any type of normal chuck. Lasting well, but you may end up wishing you had more sizes! *by Z***A on 30 May 2016* I've been using this set for 3 months, and it's doing well. So far, I've used 3 different sizes, the 3, the 5 and the 6. I've drilled into brick, mortar, and a breeze block. In each case, they were quick and clean, leaving a nicely edged hole, with no crumbling or forcing. It remains to be seen how long they last, but so far, so good - let's face it, at this price, even half a dozen uses per bit would be worth it. My only niggle (and its NOT a complaint) is that it doesn't cover some of the more popular plug sizes - a 5.5mm bit would have been very welcome, as would a 7mm one. A few times, I've resorted to making a smaller hole just-that-bit bigger by reinserting and edging it with the drill bit, which is NOT recommended for either the drill or the bit. OK, for under a tenner, it's not a bad selection, so perhaps I'll spend some more money and get a fuller set - I can always give these to my hubby. [EDIT: I've searched, and ordered this set (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001SFZWD6), as it has reasonable reviews, and it has my "missing" sizes, although only one of each. We shall see.
