Even though it seems sturdy and the handle was not over tightened the thread is damaged and item is no longer usable. Review: Rubbish - After reading some positive reviews I decided to buy this in order to glue the mortice & tenon joints on a small stool. After a load of faffing with the corner clamps, which kept falling off, I finally got everything into position. As soon as some tension was applied the central bracket snapped!! The joints hadn't even been pushed home fully so the tension was by no means extreme. I thought the bracket was steel but it turned out to be a cheap and brittle alloy. The surfaces are really smooth on the inside of this tool **Q: Would this work around a door need to glue a tenon joint** A: Yes, I'm sure it would if the nylon strap is long enough. Personally, I'd use 'Sash Cramps' as there is no 'Give' which may allow joints to expand slightly. The alternative is to use sacrificial pieces of wood and a strong rope tourniquet which can progressively tightened. Poor build quality using some sort of cast metal which breaks if you try to put any clamping pressure on, which I assumed was the purpose of these frame clamps.
