A: There is about 4.5 inches between shelves, however, I believe you don't have to fill in every shelf, allowing double the space, but fewer shelves

A: 5 Inches...But U Can Unscrew Some Of The Bars For High Top Shoes

**Q: Has anyone found the to be wobbly?Does the crossbar on the back make a difference ?**
A: I have an old one without the crossbars and it is wobblier than the new one with the cross bars.  I could lash on some strings in cross tension.

A: The dimension specs provided are correct: "Measures 36.5 x 14.6 x 59.5 inches (LxWxH)"  I'm guessing that what you are asking for is the 36.5".
