You need an amber LED for an AMBER lens. If you use these as a blinker, you likely will need to get a compatible relay or similar to get rid of hyperflash. Not any brighter than factory - These 3157R LEDs worked very well in our 2013 edge for brake lights. The red color actually eliminated a slight orange tint the factory bulbs caused in the reflector. Neither Philips nor Sylvania list ANY lumen output figure for ANY of their LED 3156/3157 appearance enhancement bulb replacement devices. Not on any website, any packing, inserts, nor any PDF of technical documentation, nor product line card. The COLOR TEMPERATURE is 6000 Kelvin, which is essentially approaching the blue wavelength spectrum. Above 8000K is approaching violet. Sylvania states in a crappy lawyer-like way that their devices "Meet the output requirements of their respective size". A 3157 incandescent is 400 Lumens. God only knows what light pattern these two sided pieces of plastic with metal heatsink actually emit. Like a florescent, just because it says 2900 Lumens (as an example) and you see the light on all sides doesn't mean all of the light emitted can be used or reflected properly in the desired direction without hot spots, nor dark spots. Certainly not at the full lumen output specification. Lumens? Who knows. For the price and wattage it cannot be more than 400 Lumens. Probably closer to 300. Good luck. **Q: Do the led have a parallel resistor so that the car still thinks a regular bulb is installed? this is important for blink rate and not to get faults** A: No the LED bulbs do not have a parallel resistor. The easiest way to fix the hyperflash or not to get faults with the LED bulbs is to change the relay to a LED compatible one. They are easily found through Amazon. **Q: why wont these work in front signal lights of a dodge caravan 2010? do you need the 50w-6ohm addon?** A: I don’t have that vehicle but if the bulb will be behind a colored lens, then get that color bulb. In your case if it’s the yellow indicator lights then the best option would be the amber bulbs. The white behind any colored lens makes the car look cheap. Same brightness as factory. *by K***. on May 24, 2020* The description says they are direct replacements for incandescent. The fine print then says you might need the resistors to add load. You do indeed need the resistors. The Philips resistors are less expensive than the Sylvania ones, but the Philips bulbs do not produce as much brightness. Here is a comparison of upgrading to these LED's vs staying with factory. Cost over 20 years... LED = $32 one time purchase of bulbs and resistors. OEM = $16 for four sets of bulbs over a 20 year period. This assumes factory and replacements last only 4 years. They normally last longer, but my OEM burned out after 4 years on this car. Labor over 20 years LED = One time install of resistors and bulbs. Took about 20 minutes. OEM = Four replacement installs. About 10 minutes each. That's 20 minutes saved over 20 years. Which is more valuable to you? 20 minutes or $16? LOL Bulb brightness is almost exactly the same on the new LED bulbs as it was on the OEM bulbs. I am concerned that a bad LED will not trigger the bulb replacement warning since the resistors are creating artificial load.
