TOKASS Dried Black Truffles, Premium Grade Sliced (4)

I recieved them and I opened the bag and smelled NOTHING! I ground some for adding to a reduction and to garnish on top, yet tasted nothing.Rehydrated as directed, they became softer and had a slight taste, but not like truffles.Very Disappointed!

I bought this because I was looking for dried black truffles. These are so obviously NOT black truffles. Not even close. It has a horrible smell (think beef jerky gone bad). I crushed one piece and rehydrated another hoping that the truffle flavor will come through and alas - there is none. So if you are hoping to elevate a dish with truffle flavor, you won’t achieve it with this.I ended up buying dried black truffle slices from a reputable Italian food market online and it was half the amount and twice the price but so obviously black truffles just from the smell coming out of container. You get what you pay for.

No way to know if this is black truffle. No flavor at all. Waste of money.
