Review: Great camera - I bought this camera almost a year ago, and so far, have not done much with it other than some test shots. Prior to buying, one reviewer said she could get 960 shots before changing batteries, and while some people don't like the fact that it uses AA batteries, that was actually a factor that caused me to get this camera. Who wants a specific re-chargeable battery pack that might be discontinued at some point? Not me. Just change out 4 AA batteries and toss the old ones in nearest trash can. I have not noticed any delay in auto-focus. I still have original batteries in camera, as I have not used it much, the internal clock keeps pretty good time. It came with a usb cord to attach to computer, which is still in the box, but I removed the memory card, put into my little Kodak, and attached to computer, no problems up-loading photos, which were sharp enough to cut your eyes! I took some shots in small room at night with only a small lamp on, without flash, and then repeated the shot with flash, and there was very little to no difference, both were sharp. I was amazed at the lighting and sharpness with no flash, indoors at night. I have taken some very sharp outdoor shots from patio, with no flash in bright daylight, which came out fantastic. Prior to this camera, I had 2 little Kodaks, which still work great, one of which is a 7.1 megapixel, which I have had shots made into 24 x 36 posters, and came out beautifully. Some of the reviewers on here probably got defective duds, hence the reviews they left, but I definitely think this is worth the money. If you think the camera strap will break, keep a tighter grip on the camera! Several reviewers mentioned blurry shots with zoom, but another reviewer was dead-on when he said you have to use a tripod or brace against tree or rail. A free hand using zoom will give you a blurry shot with most any camera! I have not noticed that the batteries drain quickly, my 2 Kodaks that only use 2 AA batteries each have decent battery life with average Duracell or Energizer. I have not used my camera on a moving subject, so I will defer to reviewers who say this model is not the best for action or sports, but for any type of stills, indoor, outdoor, various lighting conditions, you can't go wrong with this one. Right after my first review, I played around with the zoom outdoors, and I did indeed see what other reviewers meant about the auto focus taking a few seconds. However, you need a tripod or other way to steady the camera for zoom, otherwise your shots will blur every time. 5 seconds to wait for auto focus is not going to kill me. This is probably not best camera for sports or fast action, but if you don't need it for that, then this one is great.
Review: Good camera - Amazing, like a kodak pixpro

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How's this for a beginner?**
A: I would say it's excellent for a beginner. I have read other reviews that say it's not good for fast action/sports, and that focus on zoom takes a few seconds and are blurry photos at times, but if you brace camera on a tripod or fence, etc, and wait for focus, you should do well with far away mountains or anything distant. I learned with a manual 35 mm camera, and this is definitely better, it takes a lot of thought out of setting up a shot while still getting good results. I definitely think you would enjoy using it.

**Q: Can we take aurora pics with this one?**
A: Dear WilliamThere is much written about photographing the northern lights (admittedly by people a lot more knowledgeable than me). Whilst the Nikon Coolpix L330 may be used, most experts would probably not recommend it. Here's an indication of what you will probably need (not exhaustive list): - Tripod - Aperture: an f-stop of f/2.8 or faster (e.g. f/2.0) especially for night photography. You can compensate with higher ISO. The Nikon Coolpix L330 has an aperture of f/3.1-5.9 which is not ideal. - ISO: ISO setting of 400, 800 or 1600 is probably right. The L330 has an ISO of 80-1600 (auto). Generally the L330 is thin on manual functionality - Wide angle: The L330 has a lens of 4-104mm which is a fairly wide angled lens. However, this may come at some compromise to image quality- sharpness, chromatic aberration, distortion, bokeh, and several aspects of image quality. - Cable release - Chemical hand warmers - Headlamp - Flash cards that can cope with low temperature eg Sandisk "Extreme" rangeThere are a number of cameras that will be more suitable but will be more expensive. Depending on your budget, I wil be happy to make some suggestions (in and out of the Nikon range). The Northern Lights are quite spectacular and very few people get a chance to photograph them. You're going to be envy of many of us!Kind RegardsmyZohan

**Q: Can someone verify that this is the same camera being sold by Target.com for $99.00?**
A: It was being sold by Target for $99 on Black Friday...

**Q: Can you rapid shoot with this where you just press the button fast and it takes a picture everytime?**
A: Yes there's a specific setting for that shooting mode.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good camera

Amazing, like a kodak pixpro

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great zoom range and good low light capability but auto-focus is quite slow
*by J***Y on June 5, 2015*

I bought this camera for the very good zoom lens builtin. Have used other cameras and been disappointed by their zoom capability. This one, when zoomed all the way out (default setting when turned on) is a lot wider angle than most, so is great indoors when wanting to include as many people in a photo as possible. It's also great for wide-angle photos of subjects in nature. Recently took it to the Grand Canyon and the photos from that trip are spectacular. Zooming in brings a subject a LOT closer and makes many photos which would look stupid in other cameras look wonderful with the L330. When zooming all the way in, the camera needs to be steadied against a solid object like a tree, a car, a post, etc. If you try to free-hand when zoomed in all the way, you will be disappointed because you will jitter the camera and blur the picture. When attempting to zoom in or out just a little bit, I find it difficult because the electronic control tends to overdo it. A knob to twist would be better than a lever to hold, but that's probably a feature for a more expensive camera. My one true gripe with this camera is the slowness of its auto-focus. It is nearly impossible to capture an action photo because, no matter when you press the shutter release, the camera will wait until you've missed the action then it will snap the picture. Often it simply gives up and takes an out-of-focus picture which is even more disappointing. Yes, I know I can get it to focus ahead of time my pressing the shutter release down half-way and holding it there then snap the picture at the proper time by pressing it down the rest of the way. I do that all the time. But often there are shots you just can't prepare for. If I could lock the focus at infinite and disable auto-focus, then I wouldn't miss any of those kinds of shots. Again, probably a feature for a more expensive camera. This camera also does quite well in low light situations. I've done direct comparisons of this camera with other brands and been impressed. Once again, you've got to be prepared to brace the camera against something solid because in low light the shutter stays open a loooooong time. You'll blur the picture if the camera isn't suitably braced. So overall I am quite impressed with the camera. I give it 4 stars.
