Works much better than expected.
I have used used a Polaris 360 for about 15 years and have been pleased with it. But I decided I would like to go to the next step and I chose the Polaris 8050 Sport after a lot of research. Here is what I can say about it. Very easy to start up and operate. It has not gotten stuck on my drain once or has the chord gotten tangled once either. Those were some things said about other robots. Also, I love the way it vacuums and scrubs the floor and the way it climbs to the top of the walls and even cleans the tile at the top. Yes I would recommend this product very much.

Great Pool Cleaner
We love our new pool cleaner. Our last one lasted 4 summers and it was time to get a new one. Went with this one and it works really well.

Good robot
I had reservations about buying this product over a dolphin but I can say after having it for several months now that I do not regret it. It does a good job of cleaning the pool up. It does miss spots occasionally but the good definitely outweighs the bad. It does have an impressive ability to clean the waterline. The only cons of note are it’s not the best on steps (I recommend brushing your steps every couple of days) and I wish it had a longer run time.

Never will I buy Polaris again
Have not even had the Polaris one year and it will not even turn on. Called about warranty and they won’t cover it they have all kinds of outs not to cover it! Absolutely will not ever use again. It works great and have had a Polaris in the past but never again after this.

Beast of a Pool Cleaner
this unit is a beast! It cleans better than anything I've owned before. My only to criticisms are;1. The line /hose gets twisted up2. sometimes it misses the same spot over and over.3. I had to order the ultra fine filter to get silt up out of the pool and it was $80.00Other than that, this thing is awesome. Definitely way better than any of the lithium ion battery units I've had.

Good little worker
I’m cleaning a 32 x 16 pool and the machine is doing good job. Concerned about the transformer—not near as heavy and large as the Hayward sharkvac which lasted ten years. Also, the fine mesh filter screen seems little flimsy and I wonder the cost for replacement.Like the size, little easier to handle compared to Hayward. The cart which was included with machine has nice wheels and was a breeze to assemble.Kudos to the Amazon workers that make delivery possible from the warehouse workers to the drivers. My old machine quit and in a panic ordered this in the early afternoon and received the next day—no one does it better.

Poor Design in need of change
I wanted to use my Polaris 8050 Robotic pool cleaner for 6 months or more before I gave my honest review. I experienced two discrepancies that the manufacturers needs to incorporate. The first problem is the line from the controller to the cleaner will get tangled due to no hose swivel. This causes the hose to kink and the cleaner to stay in a very small area in the pool. The second problem is the maximum time to run is 1.5 hour, then the cleaner shut off. You have to go outside and turn the cleaner on again. It would be perfect if the cleaner could operate for at least 6 hours at a time, especially if you work Monday through Friday and are gone from your home. This is a very expensive cleaner and the designer failed to incorporate these options. The unit cleans good but requires at least 6 hours of continuous run time to clean my pool which is 20 x 35 and 2 feet in the low end and 5.5 feet in the deep end. My pool has three 8 feet long steps that the cleaner will not work on. They have to be cleaned by hand. Without the manufacturer incorporating these changes, I wouldn't buy this cleaner or recommend it. It's not worth the Price.

Does what it's supposed to do: No promises unkept!
Just want to preface this by saying this is the first review I've written since using cramazon for 20 yrs...Bravo Polaris! Finally a pool cleaner that does what it says it'll do. I replaced my Hayward SharkVac XL, which is supposed to be a better machine than this (according to specs) with the Polaris 8050. Put the caddy together, put it in the water, plugged it in, set it to my pool surface and off it went. IT DIDN'T GET STUCK ON THE DRAINS!!!! It also climbed each step, below water sun deck and ledges without getting stuck. Waterline!! Yep, that too! I know there will be naysayers out there, but I'll never buy a P.O.S. Haward pool cleaner of any model. Hayward...stick to pumps and controllers cause you suck (or don't suck) at pool cleaners...Haywards Sharkvac xl gets stuck 100% of the time on the drains. Got stuck every time it tried the steps. Randomly did this stupid ballerina thing, on the deep end, that twisted the cord constantly. Among other wear and tear items that broke, the motor assembly went out. When I finally found a Haward authorized service center (most pool stores won't touch a hayward pool cleaner for warranty), I was told that the sealed motor assembly was only covered under a two year warranty. That motor assembly cost as much as the Polaris 8050 new. Nope!
