There are different types of Dual Lock, allowing a person to mix and match types allowing for different amounts of adhesion between two devices. As an example, you may want less adhesion for a removable TV remote control mounted to a wall, vs mounting a IP-TV permanently to a surface behind the display. This is doble by mixing and matching Dual Lock products. **Q: Does the adhesive get soft when it warms? I want to use in a window to hang foil/foam insulation. Hook/loop adhesives tend to let go when sun hits it.** A: It will if exposed to direct sunlight. **Q: is thisw waterproof?** A: Hard to say without knowing the intended application. The construction of the hook and loop is entirely plastic so yes there. The adhesive is very strong however I doubt it would withstand constant submersion. If were talking a bit of rain here or there. I'd bet it would last through a season, depending on the application surface. Make sure its clean and dry and kept dry for a few days until it is "set".
