Here's the deal: An "inspection" flashlight is the tool of a tradesman and as such, it needs to be thoughtfully designed. It has to be impact resistant, it has to be somewhat water proof (accidents happen), it needs to have a strong white light beam (not blue-ish, but WHITE) and most importantly it has to be either square or rectangular in profile so it wont ROLL AWAY FROM YOU IF YOU SET IT DOWN. The number of "professional grade" flashlights that get that last point wrong is amazing - it's like the manufacturers have never actually used a flashlight. My last Energizer inspection light lasted the better part of a decade. Does anyone know this problem?** A: I have had the same problem with several of these flashlights. Brand new, brand new batteries and after about a minute on, begins to strobe flash. I actually purchased four over the years for the car, bed end-table, emergency response box and balcony. It's great when the electricity goes out at night. I pivot the head upward so the reflection on the ceiling lights the room just enough to get around. The magnet on the end is great for attaching the flashlight to the car when checking the engine at night.
