This device is perfect for my needs. Unlike what the lead review says, it absolutely DOES handle your headset microphone (if you need it to) as well as earphones. It takes a standard 3.5mm plug. If you need the mic capability, your plug should have a metal tip plus three more rings (mic, left, right, and ground). If you don't need the mic capability, your plug will have one fewer rings. The device has plenty of volume with the headphones I'm using, and I'm sure it will for any setup. I run my iPhone at about 75 percent volume, and your hearing is probably waaaay better than mine.I'm a hard-core audiophile. I can't tolerate bad sound when listening to music. I'm happily listening to Jazz at the Pawnshop while I'm writing this.
