Great opacity, great performance at a good price. This filament measured 1.73 to 1.74mm consistently. I found that it very slightly under-extruded but sorted that with 1.02 flow rate multiplier in Slic3r - maybe something to do with this particular pigment. Prints very well at around 205°C on either heated or non-heated bed, with no odour. Slight gloss finish, good adhesion especially on blue tape. I've tried Rigid.ink PLA and there is very little between the two. If Rigid.ink was a similar price then I'd buy that but it's nearly twice the price on desertcart. The filament comes in a good quality box and is vac-packed with silica gel. The box and reel are colour coded so you can see at a glance what the filament colour is - nice touch. Test photo 20mm cube: 0.4mm layer, 0.5mm nozzle @ 205°C with 3mm retraction on 3+ year old RepRapPro Ormerod. I printed a temperature tower to get my setting right with the product, and there was very little difference throughout the recommended range, so little that I had to double check that I hadn’t printed the whole tower at the same temperature setting. It might not mean much from a professional standpoint, but to an amateur, having a pretty wide range that the product remains stable and useable means that it’s less messing around to get things set up right. Some other brands that I’ve tried have had pretty narrow temperature ranges to get a good result. On top of this, the finish was clean, adhesion was excellent, no shrinkage at the corners that I’ve had with other brands, and no nasty smells while printing. I definitely understand why it’s rated so highly, even if it is a bit higher priced than the competition. From www.matweb.com, the average material density for PLA is 0.0473 pounds per cubic inch. So, a spool weighing 2.2 pounds should have 46.511 cubic inches in it. With a filament diameter of 1.75mm (0.06889 inches), the cross sectional area should be 0.003727 square inches. 46.511 cubic inches divided by 0.003727 square inches = 12,479.6 inches in length, or 316.9 meters. Does that seem about right? **Q: Why did this suddendly double in price?** A: Supply and demand isn't BS, but it's also a bit mendacious in this context. What Amazon is really trying to get at here is what's called the "market bearing price", and it's not the same as supply and demand. To put it another way, if you think the price is too high, send the right market signals by *not buying it*. We decide the market bearing price; Amazon merely looks for it. **Q: Can somebody weigh an empty spool for me? How many grams is the spool?** A: I weighed my brand new full spool after removing the clear plastic cover. 1270 g. So if there's really 1Kg of filament, the spool weighs 270 g. **Q: What temperature should I print this color filament at?** A: Flashforge Creator Pro printing on glass with AquaNet hairspray I run 230°C extruder and 60°C bed temperature. When using these settings, I NEVER have a problem with prints lifting. In fact, even after cooling they don't want to release... until I put the glass in the freezer. 5 minutes later, the prints are completely free of the glass with no tugging, scraping, or damage. It prints well once setup correctly. The colour is a bit odd. Very very pale beige - almost flesh colour - sorry white with a slight tint rather than what I'd consider beige. This is the only filament I've had where I've had the layers delaminate (split) when printing a large box. The end result was very brittle. (not hot enough). Adjusting the print temp solved this but as I said this is the 1st time I've had this problem.
