Review: Very technical, but very solid and very silent - TLDR: Quiet and high quality; extremely configurable, but that introduces complexity - better be comfortable with using a screwdriver in tight/awkward spaces. I've had this for more than a year now, so I'm feeling comfortable reviewing it. I'm not a stranger to computer building, I've been replacing (and sometimes even repairing) my parts for years now, but this case was more work than I expected. The last case I had was a Cooler Master, and you could remove racks and stuff by pressing buttons and opening latches; here, most everything inside the computer requires a screwdriver, and the interior structure's extensive configurability meant there was a lot of parts and pieces that were very awkward to remove, especially the power supply shroud and stuff. I recommend giving yourself a few days to learn and prepare the case before you move stuff over. That's where the negatives end though; as I hinted earlier, the interior is very configurable and the entire case has been well thought-out in a similar manner. I'm confident you could make any crazy niche build work with this thing somehow; somebody who is picky about how every facet of their machine performs would be pleased. All of the pieces that I can see myself needing to interact with most often, like the dust filters and the side panel, are very easy to access, and it's quiet. Oh, very very quiet. Fan controls are configurable, and nothing rattles. Padding is smartly placed in all the spots that would be most liable to cause trouble.
Review: Excellent Case (with one caveat), Excellent Customer Support - I got this case for my new build around a month ago. I had read some cool things about it (including the unique built-in Qi charger and USB 3.1 gen 2 front panel port that's sorely lacking in the case market right now) and it fit all of my needs without compromise (plus the Silent Wings 3 fans that I'd heard many good things about), so I ended up choosing this case after poring over almost every full tower case available right now. The case unfortunately came with the base broken off - it had looked like several small pieces that help connect the base to the rest of the case had been snapped off at some point. I was extremely concerned about this at first; I hadn't had good experiences contacting customer support for other companies in the past and it definitely didn't help that I have a fair bit of anxiety regarding phone conversations. After a bit of complaining to myself, I ended up calling be quiet customer support and a great guy working directly in the warehouse picked up. A very short calming conversation later and he helped guide me through what information they'd need from me and he had them put a base aside for me before I had even submitted that information. He assured me that it would arrive the next day - which I was extremely skeptical about, as I had called them in the evening - but, surely enough, it arrived before I even got home from work the following day! 20/10 customer support, would recommend them to anyone based on that alone. For the actual case: as others had stated, the PSU shroud was an absolute pain to work with, but it looks nice and has an SSD mount on top of it, so that's a nice bonus. If you buy this case, save yourself a lot of hassle and remove the PSU shroud before doing anything else, place it back in when you're done installing your other components. If I had known this before, I would've been spared a lot of time and frustration. I'm tempted to deduct a star just due to how much of a pain the shroud was, but I won't do that because of their excellent customer service. There's an SSD mount on the back behind the motherboard mount point - I didn't see this advertised anywhere, so that was another nice little bonus. The Qi charger works as any other Qi charger does, but it's extremely convenient that it's directly on top of my computer that sits right next to me. No extra cable dangling to the wall, no awkward protruding surface for my phone to fall off of, not some gimmicky garbage "wired but wireless" charger, but directly built in to the case. This was an unexpected, but ingenious idea from be quiet and I wish other manufacturers would take notice of this. It came with LED strips, but I didn't install them. A bit of a personal preference to not have everything lit up like RGBChristmas. If you're into that kind of thing, they're there. If you're experienced at building computers and want a good case backed by excellent customer support with good connections and features, I'd highly recommend looking into this case and buying it if it fits your needs.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the 900 pro ver 2 have a front panel usb 3.1 gen 2 connector and is the cable length sufficient in either configuration standard or inverted?**
A: yes

**Q: Is it possible to order the be quiet! dark base pro 900 black rev. 2 with a sound dampend side panel instead of the temperted glass?**
A: Not as far as I know but this is a good question...this is why I'm glad I got the non pro v1 because I'm more for function over form so I never wanted a glass side panel.

**Q: How many fans can be installed in the case?**
A: I am running 10 fans. 3 in the front. 4 on radiator running push pull so 2 fans are in the very top of the case. One on the rear and 2 in the very bottom.

**Q: what kind of LEDS are these 50/50, 3528?**
A: I consider the LEDs to be extra, in that if you don't like these, just buy some others.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Almost big enough; almost excellent quality; but not quite either
*by J***Y on October 22, 2022*

Overall I would buy it again given my specific needs - a large, quiet, professional looking case with 5.25" optical bays. It's hard to find something that does all that, so I'll forgive the flaws, but I hope if there's a v3 they fix them. First one was damaged in shipping - glass door was shattered - and Amazon sent a replacement. It has room for 2 ODDs - It's hard to find anything new that still has room for a BluRay or DVD player/burner like this. Most of my software is available as downloads or ISOs but I occasionally rip new CDs and didn't want a USB drive stacked or hanging around. Note if you want a full length radiator internally, you can only use one of the bays - the other will be filled with radiator and fan. It has 140mm fans like I wanted, but unfortunately the rear 140mm won't fit with a 420mm radiator because the hoses run there, unless you want the water hoses to run from the top front, which would remove use of the 2nd ODD bay. It won't mount on the outside either, because the case has an outward bending corner, leaving only about 138mm. Needed to use an external 120mm. It has room to add 2x140mm fans in the bottom, but the included dust screen only slides easily if you leave the fans loosely attached, and I wanted tight for no rattling, so ditched that. Also, once the fans were installed the 2 drive HDD bay will no longer fit (this is using 140mm Be Quiet fans, so you'd think this was a tested scenario). I needed a big PSU for the 4090 GPU, and grabbed a 1300W MSI with the new 16 pin connector. But it was too long to fit next to the lower 2x140mm fans. I couldn't just move the bracket, because even though it screwed in the power extension cord was hardwired at an angle that blocked the AC input. Instead of ditching a fan to make room, I removed the PSU bracket and extension switch and mounted the power supply as far away from the fans as possible, but now the switch isn't flush with the back. The supply is modular and the16pin GPU power was a Really Tight fit with the closer fan, but it just fits. Note that one of the screws holding in the PSU bracket and extension cord was stripped, seemingly out of the box new. When I tried to remove it, it just turned in the hole without coming out. Everything was wrapped, I just think it was during factory assembly, not a return. The screws overall were really soft and easy to strip the head or mis-thread, needed to go really slow and careful. The radiator wouldn't fit because of the limited space between the edge of the motherboard and the top of the case. You can adjust the motherboard tray down by about 2" by removing two spacer panels, which I did. But it still wouldn't fit (Corsair AIO kit). To get it in I put the radiator in the top space above the main cavity, and attached the fans directly under it inside the cavity. That probably stifles some airflow, but we'll see after I get things powered up. Most things come apart and go back together easily otherwise, especially for builders with a smaller system, but with two exceptions. First, the top panel is held in with like 8 plastic push clips that have to all be pressed open simultaneously to release the panel, which then has a squeaky tight fit with all the front panel buttons and ports. And second, this system has a different size screw for just about everything - lost track but something like 12-15 different sizes and threads. Only design criticism that would apply even to a small build is the airflow - the fans are big and quiet enough, but other than the single rear exhaust, they are all really cramped. I like that it's a closed case and not open mesh all around for some quiet, but there should be some openings for air to move. The front two fans have almost no space in front before the door - they suck in through tiny holes around the door instead. The top, even if I had fit my radiator inside as is probably intended, only has very small vents and mesh holes - not enough for 3x140 going full steam if needed. If you add bottom fans, there's not much space beneath the case to draw air in, and if you use the PSU shroud any air that does come in is blocked. I'm just leaving the shroud out, which looks a bit messy, but function over form for me. Hopefully v3 can address these, pretty simply with: 1. use only 2-3 different types of screws throughout, of harder material less likely to deform 2. make the case 4-5 inches taller, putting extra space in the top cavity, main cavity, and PSU area to better handle big radiators, motherboards, and PSUs, and leave more room for the fans to breathe 3. make the top panel easier to remove
