It was not in a Schmitt box, just a bubble wrapped wheel. My first thought was that it was a knock off. I wanted a Schmitt wheel because I thought they were made in the USA. They are priced like a US made product. Anyway, this wheel was made in China. I went to the local big boating store and looked at the Schmitt wheel there. It too was made in China. My wheel and the wheel in the store are identical down to the stickers hidden inside the hub. I guess the product is legit. I'll get off my soap box now and get on with the product review.1. Fit my Teleflex steering system with no problems.2. Seems to be well made. Highly polished and smooth.3. It's been on the boat for a month, in a salt water environment, and is not rusting yet.4. All Points Marine shipped it fast. It was at my door before Amazon said it shipped.5. It is what I wanted and it looks good. All of the "good" (stainless or aluminum)ones I found were expensive. I found this wheel and decided I would just replace the plastic wheel I currently have with this one. Very easy to install. only had one small issue. When I popped the center cap out of the wheel the stainless cover fell off of the plastic center cap. I glued it back on and eamiled the company I bought it from about it. I didnt expect them to give me a new one but I did expect a response. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Oh what a nice product.
