Finally a high quality integrated tabletop satellite radio
Although this was the only quality integrated satellite table radio on the market when I was looking to buy this summer, I held back from this bargain-priced out-of-production Tivoli for two reasons. First, Sirius and Tivoli instruct you that the cheap antenna that comes with it must be set on the window sill of a Western facing windows (in the area that I live) and I had only southern and eastern facing windows. When Sirius successfully launched its first geo-stationary satellite this summer, I gambled that my southern window would now work. Success. I not only get perfect reception, but I can get it with the antenna sitting on top of the radio pointed at my southern window 5 feet away.My second problem was the inadequate 20 minute only sleep timer. I solved this by purchasing the inexpensive Intermatic TB121C timer offered here on Amazon. The timer plugs into the wall socket, the radio plugs into the timer, and the easy-to-set timer control is on a cable that I set right next to the radio on my night table where I can easily set it when to shut the radio off. Not a perfect solution because when you wake up and look at the radio to see the time, you have to press the power button on the radio or remote to get the time to display. But I have little problem with it.The radio itself offers great sound for its size. The display is impressive. It autosizes the text so that it is completely visible in the display as large as possible. If the title or artist is too long to fit, the display automatically scrolls it. I was also impressed by the built-in FM antenna, although I no longer listen to FM. Perhaps Tivoli will start up production again.

Old tuner
old tuner-will not tune new stations above 186.My favorite opera channel moved to 355 and we cannot tune it in now and sirius will not even answer enquiry as to why they moved channel.A shame because radio function itself is superb with satellite external dish connection.

sounds as gorgeous as it looks
great system, unbelievable sound quality. my only complaint is that it comes with a power pack that is the size of a brick.

I have had the Tivoli satellite radio for almost 5 years now. In the beginning it was great but somewhere along the way it started to just stop playing suddenly. I discovered that the white power plug in the back of the radio was the problem. It was not making contact properly. I would twist it around til it came back on and tiptoed away so ad not to jar it. It got very tiring but I had to listen to Howard so I kept trying. For $300 you don't expect this to happen. I thought it was just a fluke until my son was given the same radio on a job he was doing. It even still had a satellite subscription active on it. Well I am sure they gave it away because it had the same problem mine did. I contacted Tivoli and they knew all about it. That is why it was discontinued. Theory had no fix or help to give me, so now I have two radios that are just good for paperweights. The shame of it is that it was a great sounding radio when it was working and even now if I can get it to play for a few minutes. I am looking for a different one to transfer my subscription to.I am sorry to say that I would not take a chance on another. They are great at first and then they are not.Hope this saves someone wasting there money on a sure failure down the road.

This could have been a great purchase, Tivoli thinks that if any part of the radio last one year you have received your monies worth.Great idea , great for a short life .I had one good experience with an early Model One and unfortunately purchase ten more for clients as gifts.Ordered the Satellite and it stopped working in eleven months and Tivoli removed it from the Market. The have no service and offer exchange for one year and that is all this radio is worth "ONE YEAR"

I am so happy with this....................
I can't believe that I debated one second (I checked out all possible satellite radio options, and due to the cost, regretably hesitated on this one for one month). This is the only total satellite radio unit out there; the others you have to buy separate speakers, receivers, hand-held units, special antennas to get good reception---this unit comes complete. It was so easy to "install" this, I didn't even bother reading the directions (and I am a totally non-electronically inclined person). It took about 3 minutes to hook up and plug in--connect 2 included cables to the back of the unit, plug in the wall, and voila. PLUS, I cannot even begin to describe the amazing (yes, AMAZING) sound quality of this unit. It is comparable if not better than Bose. It sounds like the people are in your living room talking. And the sound is big; it fills my large bedroom completely. And then activating my Sirius subscription was so simple (you could do it online and save $5, or do it over the phone)--you just complete payment with credit card, Sirius gives you the signal immediately, and there you go!! I got it to listen to Howard Stern, but that pales in comparison to all the great channels available. I listed to 4 hours of classic Bluegrass music last night (who the #$&!! knew!) Plus there are tons of amazing talk channels (metaphysical info, health info, the Cosmo channel, etc.). I can't believe I waited to long; it's really amazing.

A great Sirius satellite radio
I was initially quite skeptical about satellite radio. Then, I saw the Tivoli in an advertisement and decided to take a chance. I was very pleasantly surprised with the radio and the Sirius satellite service. I've brought the radio to my office and can enjoy commercial free music throughout the work day. The sound from this small, mono radio is remarkably clear and powerful. This includes both high and low range sounds. The remote control is compact and easy to use; actually, I prefer the remote, since the buttons on the radio are small. You can store 20 of your favorite satellite stations for easy access. Even FM stations sound great, but I rarely listen since the satellite stations are much better. The Sirius lineup is excellent, and it truly is commercial free music. (News and Talk stations have brief commercial breaks.) Overall, I definitely recommend the Tivoli satellite radio (and Sirius satellite radio).
