Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo Fine to Medium Hair 1 Kit

I had tried a few other hair removal methods in the past for the hair on my upper lip. Tweezing and waxing were the only things that worked. I had never tried a depilatory cream except for once on my legs (which was a HORRIBLE experience with zero results) and the hair on my legs is extremely coarse being as I'm a European brunette (eek!). SO I was a bit skeptical of whether or not this would work. Luckily for me, I had regularly waxed my upper lip every few weeks for a few years in my teens, so the hairs had decreased dramatically in number and had gotten pretty fine. I've stopped waxing for the past few years, since it was a hassle and always left enough irritation that it was inconvenient. There were only a few hairs on the outer corners that you could see, and the rest were almost invisible. Lately they have been bothering me a bit, and this product was reasonably-priced, so I decided to go for it.The process was extremely simple. Apply the balm, rub it around for about 10 seconds to make sure it absorbs into the skin and doesn't coat the hairs too much, then apply a THICK layer of the cream, and let it sit. After ten minutes, give the cream a firm wipe with a round cotton pad or cotton ball. I like to splash the area with water and apply moisturizer right away to soothe my sensitive skin (this step may not be necessary for everyone, I just did it to be extra sure since in the past I've had issues with dry skin after hair removal methods). It worked perfectly for me the first time, except that a few of the hairs on the outer corner of my upper lip were still there. I must not have applied the product thickly enough the first time. However I just tried again the next day and they were ALMOST gone, except for maybe one or two stragglers. These I just tweezed. I also tried this product on the space between my brows as I had a few stray fine hairs there as well, and it worked perfectly there, removing 100% of the little hairs I wanted gone. I have somewhat sensitive skin and this product didn't seem to aggravate my skin. There was a slight odour but this is almost unavoidable with a hair removal cream. It wasn't unpleasant, or too strong at all especially considering it was right under my nose. Also there seems to be more than enough of the cream in the tube for at least 4-6 uses (for me that means in multiple areas at one time).My upper lip was smooth and hair-free for at least two weeks after my first use. I didn't notice any hair until 3 weeks later, and it has now been one month since my first use. I've just used it a second time and everything was completely removed. The key for effective hair removal is applying a layer that's VERY thick, thick enough that you can't see through it at all, the skin and hair must be completely concealed under the cream. Clearly Olay has worked some kind of magic with this system; it's gentle yet effective. I would definitely recommend this to a friend!

I have to admit, I was very weary of purchasing this product; partly because of the reviews and partly because I didn't want to throw away $20+ on a product that has competitors offering the same thing for much less. One of the main factors that pushed me to try it, was seeing that Olay was offering refunds to all the women who had a poor experience. All in all, I'm 100% happy that I took the risk.In the past I have tried Nair, even sensitive skin formula, and I have still ended up with irritated skin or only partial hair removal. Olay left me with smooth skin and 95% hair removal.Every woman's background and condition is different, so to help all who read this review understand, I am a white female that had fine 'peach fuzz' hair development along my upper and lower lip; which developed, in my opinion, due to me being a former cigarette smoker.Upon opening the package, I followed the instructions precisely as indicated. Olay highly cautions users to not leave the product on for more than 10 minutes. I want to say that I do not endorse taking a risk outside the recommended usage, but I do want to testify to the fact that this product is gentle on the skin due to the fact that I had let time get away from me and had left the product on my upper lip for roughly 15 minutes. Even then, I experienced zero irritation (no dryness or redness) and 95% hair removal. The few hairs left are the ones that are in the far corners of my mouth, and along my lower lip line, where I did not want to get the product too close to my mouth opening.Again, Olay does not recommend using this on the eyebrows or near the eye area, but I did try it on the bridge of my face between my eyebrows to rid myself of the peach fuzz in that area as well. Again, it worked very well on all the fine hairs.I highly recommend this product to women looking to get the effects of waxing without all the irritation and mess. It's a perfectly private solution that works in less than 10 minutes and leaves absolutely no evidence behind.

My first time removing facial hair. Its really very light hair but after I could actually see it in the mirror I had to get rid of it . I had heard of this new product by Olay so that's what I was looking for. It arrived in no time at all. Directions were clear and simple. I did it just as they said and the hair came off perfectly. There was more there than I had realized. Ugh, I am so glad I used the Olay! No burn at all and no foul smell. The two worst things about depilatory removal but neither were an issue. It was easily 5 stars for me. It wasnt cheap but having it work so well, and with no burning, no foul odor, no redness.It worked in just a few minutes. That makes it worth the few extra dollars. This is all I will be using. Another great product from Olay!
