Originally created for motorcycle wear, the material was subjected to 70mph crash tests using real pavement during development. At less than .5mm thick, it has enough body to be substantial, yet adds virtually nothing to your load. This layout is based on the Tyvek "MICRO size" but the best construction methods from fabric and leather are applied. Since it can be cut without fraying, the integrated card slot design further contributes to the wallet being 2-3 times thinner than leather wallets. The wallet uses no animal products and is Bluesign certified for its earth-friendly material. Features hybrid ID slot/window with stitched plastic cover. Made in San Francisco. This version blocks RFID signals 13.56 MHz and above (The range found in ID cards, passports, and credit cards). Some building access cards are NOT blocked, which means you may still be able to get in and out of your work doors while still protecting your credit cards from having their digital information taken.

Review: I had the old Tyvek version. It eventually wore out - after several years. It was amazingly thin and light. Loved it. But it did show signs of wear (the gray colored Tyvek developed white wear marks where it rubbed) within a few months. After something like two years, it developed holes at the edges. When I went shopping for another thin & light wallet, I looked at a lot of options. SlimFold came back to the top of the list - as thin as possible, strong, credit cards cannot slide out. But I would not do Tyvek again. So I purchased the soft shell fabric one. It is nearly exactly the same design as the Tyvek one (the have added a see-thru plastic cover over the ID portion). I love the design. I've had it one week so far. I carry 8 cards and about 10 bills without any problem. I've done 12 cards and 20+ bills and it won't lay flat, but it does hold them nicely. If I were to express any concerns about this wallet: (1) The style is very casual - the Tyvek had a nice "alternative" story, but this just comes across as any other sports wallet - doesn't appear very professional; (2) It is a very dark black - the red stitching is very subdued. Why is black bad - in the week I've had it, I have twice not been able to find it when it was sitting in the bottom of a small duffle bag. Its so dark, it blends in the shadows. There is a gray version (like my old Tyvek one) which I think would eliminate that issue. I still rate this five stars because as long as you understand those two very minor quibbles going in, it is an amazingly thin, light, strong wallet. I've seen a few different pictures of the logos on this wallet. Mine has one logo, on the inside only, flush with the surface, and very subdued saying simply "slim fold".

I had the old Tyvek version. It eventually wore out - after several years. It was amazingly thin and light. Loved it. But it did show signs of wear (the gray colored Tyvek developed white wear marks where it rubbed) within a few months. After something like two years, it developed holes at the edges. When I went shopping for another thin & light wallet, I looked at a lot of options. SlimFold came back to the top of the list - as thin as possible, strong, credit cards cannot slide out. The design of this slim wallet delivers its promise. My husband's previous leather wallet was looking pretty thick inside his pockets, so I helped him pare down what was essential to keep and move in to the new wallet. (He was still carrying at least 2 several-years-expired cards.) I like how there are more card slots hidden inside the billfold for whatever is less frequently used. He's happy with the new one so far. The material is the only thing I'm questioning if it will hold up to years of wear. When first opening up the wallet, the material covering the top of the billfold doesn't appear to cover the whole billfold section, and while I believe that is intentional in the design, it appears unfinished to me. This thing that bothers me is only visible if there are no bills in there, and since my husband does carry a small amount of cash, I'm not docking any points for aesthetics
