These are the true dimensions of the tool itself. It has a nice strong magnet on it too. **Q: can the center level be read from the side rather than from the top? thanks!** A: It can be read from 3 sides **Q: Could the magnet (which is soft and has to be glued or taped on) have some unevenness which would affect the accuracy of the level?** A: It could. Mine protrudes a uniform 0.50mm below the surface of the level for the full length without any noticeable waves or bumps.
