It works!
I purchased Down to Earth rose and flower mix fertilizer 4-8-4 when a friend suggested it. Wow! It made a huge difference....I am new to gardening...my roses were doing nothing. I gave them a little of this with Down to Earth All Natural Alfalfa and was so pleasantly surprised to see buds the next day. Within 2 days I had beautiful pink roses!

Truly incredible for Roses
I generally find Down to Earth to be one of the best brands for organic fertilizer. It's really good from an up-cycling perspective (because it's from waste from the meat industry) and the fertilizer usually is medium-speed absorption which I prefer over other types. The organic materials have to be broken down over time, so they provide nutrients over a few months, instead of just a couple days like a liquid fertilizer, but it tends to work faster than most slow release coated fertilizers like ozmocote. You can really see it kick in after a week or two, which is my favorite experience, suddenly the plant just looks twice as vigorous and starts budding everywhere. I prefer this medium speed because you can truly observe the nutrient absorption from the plant, vs. the guessing game of a slow release (is the plant getting enough, too much, etc.) You also can reapply throughout the season without too much risk of overdoing it, which isn't the case for a slow release, which might still be active in the soil, and you get that same thrill of seeing it absorbed late in the season. I love this stuff
