Great deal if you have tool knowledge and abilities !
I got this as a replacement for my 2015 Ford Fusion Energi where the key broke off the fob. The electronics swapped perfectly, but you need to press out the pin from the new key carrier, make Dremel cuts on the existing key to shape it to fit the new differently shaped key carrier, repress the compression pin, and rotate the spring mechanism for the spring opening while snapping it closed before the spring rotates and it all snaps apart. Given that, if you have the tools and skills, it certainly beats $300 for the Ford replacement. I was able to successfully get mine together and it works perfectly. The plastic feels a little cheaper, but it hasn't been worn and smoothed from ten years of handling. Maybe the original fob felt like this too. Missing the Ford logo isn't ideal and the old backing with the Ford logo doesn't quite fit on the new fob. Overall, it's a bargain. Beware if you don't have the skills to swap out the components and cut the end of the key fitting with a Dremel. I used the grinding stone to remove metal to shape mine down.

JUST THE SHELL, perfect.
ONLY THE HINGE that holds the key blade in the my fob broke. There was nothing wrong with the key blade or the fob functionality,I only needed a new shell.Of course the dealership tried to convince me that I needed to spend $300+ to literally “fix something that was not broken.”Waiting for delivery I used a sent of locking pliers (available at Walmart for under $5) to hold the key blade, and held the broken fob close to the ignition so the key would turn. After a few YouTube searches, I found a video that showed how to open the old fob casing, how remove the electronics, then how to reinstall into the new casing/shell.This item is ONLY an empty fob casing/shell, although it DOES come with an uncut replacement blade if you need one.It was exactly what I needed at a perfect price.

Works for the button replacement
Alright, I read the reviews. As many people noted; the original ford switchblade key breaks at the button from metal fatigue.I ordered the pair of replacements, with the intention of only replacing the spring loaded button in met fob from the aftermarket fob sold here.Easy enough, I actually have a watch band tool I purchased from HF a few years back and the pin that holds the key is about this size. From unboxing and comparing side by side, these seem almost identical with the exception of the ford logo. I removed the key blank button and pin and put in the same pin with the old key on the replacement button. The button and spring mechanism are different. There is more metal on the components in the cord version. Also the spring is much weaker on the aftermarket version. However, it does the job. While I had the old fob apart I attempted to swap the key ring metal from the new with the old. There is less than a millimeter difference. But this also means it doesn’t fit exactly without forcing it in. Because this is plastic I opted to leave the old key ring portion in instead of replacing it with the new one.Given that this is off from factory, I would also assume the silicon insert will be off as well. This would mean you could have issues if you did a complete swap out.If you reuse the silicone pad you may be able to get better results.Additionally, I am considering swapping the new spring with the old. However the button mechanism is a little different, and it may not work as desired. Overall, it is way cheaper than going to the dealer. And worth the effort. If you are planning on ordering these, I suggest getting the mini star screwdriver to go with it. There are cheap sets on Amazon, for this purpose, and you are bound to need them again. I happened to have a set I used for a battery swap on iPhone. The new fobs use a mini Phillips head screw so you wouldn’t need it for the new fob.Note: I ordered the two pack, the first one I opened wasn’t put together properly nor was the screw in place and literally fell apart taking it out of the bag. Luckily I wasn’t buying it for electronics swap.

Nice cheap replacement
My key fob for my 2016 fusion broke the other day while turning the key. The key didn't snap, but the flip out part on the key fob broke and the key part came out. Ford wanted a LOT to replace and reprogram the key. This was $10, I took the little circuit board out of my old key fob and put it in this one. It fit perfectly and was really easy to swap out. (I watched a 2-3 minute YouTube video) I had to buy a $5 punch to get the pin out that holds the blank key in, and then i swapped in the old key that broke out of the old key fob. Took about 10 minutes total and it works great! If you don't want to deal with removing the pin, you can take this to a locksmith and they'll cut the key for you. The main thing is just moving the circuit board over to the new key fob, with takes like 2 minutes tops. You will need a small flat head screwdriver, some needle nose pliers (that you use to pop open the key fob to get the circuit board out), and a really small torx bit for one screw. I got the torx bit out of a tiny screwdriver kit from the dollar store. Remember not to lose that screw from the old key fob because you use it in the new one. Overall, with the torx bit, punch, and new key fob, i replaced my broken key for under $20 in about 10 minutes. Better than the $250 they wanted at Ford.

Takes some manipulation
It functions but take some work to get the original key to fit this case. Dremel and file will need to be used unless you wanna pay a locksmith to cut the blank key that's supplied.

Doesn’t fit
This isn’t a an OEM or even close ford fusion key. Well perhaps, because I have a hyrbid fusion titanium enegi. But nonetheless the Amazon fit your car guarantee, said it would fit, but this key is usually for Toyotas from what the dealer told me. None of my microchips in my two fobs would fit this and the dealer said there’s wouldn’t fit this. I couldn’t return the item because it was opened and I left a piece at the dealership who said they threw it away.
