CRAFTSMAN V20 WEEDWACKER String Trimmer & Edger, Cordless (CMCST900D1)

I wanted a weekwacker that would be easy to use. This is definitly it. This was easy to put together out of the box. Battery lasts a good 25 minutes and had very good power for battery operated. Worked well around fence line. Excellent value for money.

I bought this to replace a light duty Ryobi battery-powered unit and have never looked back. This one has a lot more power, and my favorite part is that it extends to accommodate tall people. I’m 6’1 and had to hunch over uncomfortably to use the Ryobi. Not the case with the Craftsman- it is far more comfortable to use. It is lighter than most gas units I’ve used but is definitely heavier than the Ryobi, so that’s something to keep in mind. The quality and durability have been what I expected from Craftsman. Really my only complaint is that it came with a 2ah battery, which will only last 15-20 minutes if you use the trimmer on high speed. I guess it might be fine if you have a small yard, but you’ll probably need more. Fortunately I have other Craftsman tools and had a few 4ah batteries already, which will get you 35-40 minutes on high speed. All in all I’m very happy with this trimmer.

It's a great, lightweight, and quiet weedeater that functions the way you'd expect. The line feeds itself very well. The only issue I have is how quickly the battery completely drains. I'd rate it 5/5 if the battery held more of a charge and would past longer. Now I'll have to buy another one to swap out with in order to finish my yard every time. (my yard isn't very big at all) Nonetheless, I will recommend buying this weedeater, just be prepared to need another battery unless you only have a small job to do.

I was shocked how lightweight the package was when I picked it up which delighted me as I knew product was going to be even lighter. It was ready to go other than a quick installing of handle in which you only need a screwdriver. Battery was charged but I charged it a little bit before I went out & wacked away a huge amount of unwanted greenery. I loved this so much that I held my phone (not the safest to do, I didn't get hurt but limits your grip on handle) for light as I continued through the dark. Battery that came with it held up for the hour I used it & still had charge, I used low speed bc it was doing the job & I'm a newbie at weedwacker. Also I pushed it to the limits not intentionally as I kept hitting unseen concrete, thick branches, etc & the string did not break. Love that it's cordless!! IDEAL for any adult females of any age or size (I'm short below 5'3" who have no one to help with yard work who've never used powerful equipment, YOU CAN DO IT!! This review is based on 1st initial use therefore longevity of this equipment is unknown.

Works great! No mess no loud engin and easy to start, instant on with a press of a button.

First, The spools from my worn-out B&D fit this. Big plus, then the .65 recommended wire I had bought a 1000 ft spool shortly before the B&D died. another big plus. The included battery is only 2 amps so it did not last as long as I expected, I had bought earlier 2 6 amp generic batteries for a different tool, And in anticipation an adaptor to work with this. The setup worked very well, Being extremely very lightweight I was concerned it would not have the kick I wanted. However I used it on my electrified garden fence that's about 200 ft X 60ft ish without fail, I used less than 1 spool, And I did use my generic batteries but was able to finish the entire electrified garden fence, I cut a swath about 2ft wide to clear badly weeded under the electric fence. and the biggest plus is no more power cords twisting and getting caught on everything. This was a very good purchase and I am well pleased...
