Works great and well made for the price
The media could not be loaded. Didn’t take long to assemble and I found the kit very comprehensive with a good selection of spares.Takes a few minutes to heat up (using methylated spirits), but with a little encouragement the engine fires into life and will run comfortably for quite some time.I used a drop of 3 in 1 oil to lubricate all moving parts, and this seemed to make it run like a ticking clock.Bought for my 9yo twins birthdays, as far as gifts go for technically minded children and adults, it’s absolutely fantastic and a great introduction to industrial machinery (just in time for the Industrial Revolution at school!)

Beautiful working model
Beautiful made, scientific working model. A few fiddly bits but well worth the effort.

It functions, as an ornament
I haven't returned the product because I'll keep it as an ornament. I like sterling engines and bought this as it was the cheapest one I had found and therefore knew I'd get what I paid for. Instructions take a bit of intuition for non-Chinese speakers but are simple enough. Even built correctly this does not function.

A well-engineered Stirling Engine model kit.
The media could not be loaded. This is a well-engineered kit with good castings and parts, totally complete, including all tools needed (3x Allen keys). Although there are clear instructions, it may not be easy for children to put together and more suited to adults. There are many small parts, some of which (e.g. the grubs screws to lock the flywheels) are very tiny so make sure you keep them safe. They do include some spares though, just in case. I also like that the heated cylinder is stainless steel rather than glass so this is overall much better than others. When I put it together it worked first time without any adjustment needed, though I did later oil the links with very light sewing machine oil and it then ran much smoother and faster (the cylinders and pistons shouldn't be oiled). It looks good in its original colours as overall it has a good finish. However, before I put it together I sprayed the base red and replaced the silver screws with brass rod and dome nuts to give it more of a Victorian steam engine look. The screws are are all M4 threaded to easy to replace. I also polished the flywheel, so my photos should be compared with the Amazon grey one shown first, which is how it will arrive. Note that none of that is necessary, it will work just as well with the original Allen head bolts.I have several Stirling engines of different designs and this is by far my favourite!

Works nicely, and kids love it
This is my best gift for years. The kit came with spare parts and fuel bottle. The engine is able to run at a speed of about 200 rpm, and a little bit more when fully lubricated. The user manual is written in a language no one could understand, but the diagrams are good enough for the assembly.

Good runner.
This lovely hot air engine ran first time, just make sure that there is a bit of slack at the moving parts, and apply a drop of oil to each of the joints, Do not run this engine in a confined space, have a window open for safety. This engine will get hot, just be careful.
