RGB LED's work great, watch power supply
I purchased two of these kits to install as lighting under my travel trailer (32'). I had the more basic remote kit I bought from efay awhile back for lighting in a boat engine compartment and was impressed. So I bought two to stretch right down the middle of the camper under the frame rails. I ran both in series off of one controller that I water proofed with epoxy and mounted on the front of the trailer frame. Sensor pokes out of a small hole and works well. I can tell that the lights get a bit dimmer towards the back of the camper, so I am definitely pushing the limits of running two strands on one RGB controller, but I am not real good at following product use rules! I do find it hard to believe that the backing is really 3M as it is not real good. It was more of an adhesive to hold it in place until I could go back with zip ties and some clear shoo goo to secure it in place. For less than $45 it is fantastic and gives the bottom a nice glow at night, not over powering. While it is a cheap set of lights, I gave it 5 stars based on value for the price. Buy basically the same thing from an RV show and you will spend 3 to 8 times as much. Make sure your power supply you use can push at least 800 milliamps (10 watts) at 12 volts. Otherwise the strand will light up on one color only and it seems like the controller or remote is bad. No on/off, color changing, just a constant on that was blue for mine. Hooked up to better power source and they worked just fine.No power supply with this set, but it doesn't say it has one either. That is why I ordered it, I was installing on a vehicle that uses a 12 volt battery. No negative for not including something that they say isn't included.....Happy happy happy am I!

Warning! Read before purchasing!
I have several similar light sets set up around my house, and just by looking at the design of this strip, I am truely afraid to plug it in! First of all this product was shipped from some obscure little factory in China, via China Post, so it took over a month to arrive. The packaging was horrible, basically they wrapped it in bubble tape, threw it in a trash bag, wrapped tape aroud it, and slapped a lable on it. Honesty it looked like the product had been stolen off an assembly line, from some hazardous underground factory run by child laborers, so it could be sold via the black market. The light roll came sealed in a small foil bag, which upon opening, released an awful chemical odor. (I'm seriuosly considering sending it to a lab for testing). The wiring is very flimsy, and the power supply Iooks like it could barely run a watch for an hour without overloading. I guess that explains why it was so inexpensive. I would return it but it dosen't make sense to waste a coulpe hours of my free time for a $15 refund.Disclaimer: I have yet to plug it in, so it may work fine. (Which I doubt, just as I doubt one would find prime filet mignon in a happy meal box)Once I find a safe place to test the strip, I'll post the results....

Not a complete set, UPDATED again
UPDATE Oct 26, 2013:I did more experimentation on this LED strip. I found that the power supply I was using it was unregulated, meaning that I did not have 12V but more like 19V. This excess of voltage was causing the LEDs to overheat. I have powered my 3LED section for several hours now at 12V and they are not heating as much. Sure the temperature rises around 40degC but that is both expected and safe.I now wonder if people complaining of overheating were using a power supply that was not adequate or if they put too many strips in series. I will keep playing with them. I really have high hopes on this set now.I opened the controller and it is reasonable well done. The transistors seem to be a little small (SOT23s) for handling 6A... But at least the interface is done so that if they burn they can be replaced with something bigger. It seems to remember the settings even if power is removed, which is awesome for such a simple board. (as far as I can tell, a small micro controller and a small eeprom). The only CON right now is that the kit did not included the male connector. I am keeping this set...Four stars because:1) Missing parts2) Un-trust on those transistors.UPDATE Oct 25, 2013 (Please disregard this update):So I got this product. I connected it and it works great. I had cut 3 LEDs (one section) and connected it and ALAS, people are right! These LEDs can heat so much that it burns to the touch. Of course one feels a burn sensation with about 60degC. So I went for my thermocouple, used to measure high temperatures (and low) and put it to work. Those 3 LEDs got VERY hot. So hot that the plastic used to seal them started to melt. The temperature was 140degC! (284F). Scared but inquisitive about the situation, I connected the rest of the string and powered it up. I found that the first LEDs got hot (not as hot as if you have only 3) and towards the end of the string things became almost room temperature. My guess is that the voltage drop on the string made the last LEDs to consume way less power than the first ones but I could not confirm that.140degC is a very high temperature and this was with the LEDs on open air. I just can imagine if I would have put them against wood in a confined space. That temperature would have probably risen way more.If the seller intended for this product to be in a long series LEDs they should state it. Because clearly having little strips of 3 LEDs rise the temperature to concerning levels. I wonder why people complain about the glue falling down.I will be returning this product. It was a waste of my time. I will post a picture showing the temperature on my DMMs display and how the LEDs melted the protective coating. It is a shame because otherwise they where amazing... But I guess even the remote possibility of a fire is not amazing... so I had updated this product to 1 star...ORIGINAL POST:I bought this and sure as other people here say it was missing the male connector. It is interesting that they promote a 5A power supply with these sets where the specification clearly say that this is a 72 watt set.You should not connect two of this strips in series, it is stated on the bag but also do the math, that would be 144 watts. That is a 12A power supply. I doubt the strip itself can handle 12A of carry current.I am concerned about people complaining of this sets overheating. I will do some tests and I will try to post and update if I find something not good.
