The photos in this book are amazing. Good reading also.

I have traveled to St. Petersburg three times in the last 30 years or so and have seen interiors and exteriors of several of the palaces revealed in this book. The photography is excellent, and it was a delightful remembrance of my own times there. For those interested in antiques and art of that city, this book is a great help. The book pleased me immensely.

This book conveys the embarrassment of riches that was royal St Petersburg. Everywhere you look there is beauty.This book truly conveys that.

Incredible photographs of spaces from a world lost to savagery.... a must have book for Russophiles, design aficionados , and architecture buffs

About 2 thirds of the pictures in this book are paintings, photos of people, old pictures of the rooms or drawings. Only a very few pictures are actual pictures of the rooms in this beautiful palaces. Many close-ups and glimpses of rooms here and there, not photos that represent entire rooms. ALL room pictures can also be found online! I give it 2 stars only for the quality of printing and binding of the book. Content is very dissapointing.
