There's no shortage of kitchen scales for under $20 on Amazon and many have the same weight limit and precision as this one: up to 11 pounds (5 kilograms) reading to 0.1 in pounds and whole grams. The scale can be changed to read in grams, kilograms, pounds + ounces, ounces only, and milliliters. But who really needs a scale in the kitchen and why this one?For people on diets who are counting calories, measuring portion sizes and ingredients comes in really handy. Buying meats in bulk and repackaging into smaller sizes for freezing at home is a great use for a scale like this. In baking, measuring by weight instead of volume can be crucial as flour, sugar, and other ingredient volumes can change depending on how they are packed.Well this scale works well in all of those circumstances and more. I like that the platter for measuring is raised and has a diameter of 5 1/8th inches (130 mm). It easily handles small to medium size mixing bowls and my 1, 2, & 4-cup measuring cups. I can put a dinner plate on it and scooch towards the back and still see the scale (I couldn't do that with the smaller 4-inch square compact scales or the totally flat scales. And the all-plastic design makes it light weight and easy to clean - a lot easier than the scales with the glass or stainless steel tops. They are pretty, but they're so hard to clean and show finger prints so easily.It's thin and stores easily - I stand it on its end and lean it against the inside wall of the cabinet right next to my measuring cups. It comes with batteries and I like that it uses the less expensive AAA batteries instead of the more expensive coin-type batteries. The numbers are a good size and easy to read but I wish the size of the letters showing the measurement type were a little larger.Compact size, easy to read and use, metric and imperial measurement scales, easy to clean and store are all great reasons to choose this scale. 5 stars and highly recommended.

I love having this inside my utensil drawer just in case I ever need precise measurements on anything. It actually comes with batteries that last a long time. It automatically shuts off. You can zero it out so there’s no hassle when weighing multiple ingredients. It’s extremely lightweight and no fuss. Got rid of my pretty analog scale to save counter space and this was the perfect alternative.

Accurate and easy to store

I thought it was confusing at first to figure out how to use the scale with a bowl. I misread and thought it came with a weighing bowl which wasn't a big deal since I had one from a previous scale. Once I figured it out I found it easy to use and accurate. I love that it takes regular batteries instead of the expensive CR batteries. Highly recommend.

It erases the weight in 3 seconds. You cannot have time to add the second ingredient.

I was needing to weight some lighter weight ingredients so I thought I'd try this scale. It weighs in ounces and grams and that's what I need. Not sure yet how high it will weigh? But it does work and is perfect. It zeros quick with or without a bowl to put items in for a weight check. So far so good. I'm impressed with it. Only 2 aaa supplied batteries and I really like it. Definitely makes baking so much easier! Its easy to read, easy to use, easy to change the unit you need and it turns off automatically. Came with 2 AAA batteries, manual shows you how to set scale to zero after placing measuring tool for the accuracy of ingredients being measured. Perfect for meal prepping also!

I purchased several kitchen scales before. This one is the good one. The size and color fits my needs. It is light and does not occupy too much space, also very easy to use.
