BEST Bang For Your Buck! AMAZING Apple CarPlay Stereo
The media could not be loaded. Sony XAVAX1000 Review & Install on 2007 Hyundai Elantra:I was a little skeptical of this unit and have always been skeptical of aftermarket units as I think they're ugly, of terrible quality and a pain in the a** to use. This Sony unit checks ALL the boxes + more. The interface is beautiful, simple and EASY to navigate unlike most aftermarket units. Apple CarPlay works SEAMLESSLY and flawlessly. Connecting a backup camera was EASY and my unit looks so good mounted into the license plate light (all links for what I needed are listed below). I was worried I wouldn't like the USB port next to the screen but it really doesn't bother me other than the look isn't great but it was better than routing a USB port somewhere else and way simpler + this unit has AUX if you need it. My only complaint is that the touch screen is capacitive and it's kind of old school. Granted you're not touching it much and it works just fine, it's just not as nice as say a high quality glass or plastic display with resistive touch. That being said, I purchased an open box unit from Amazon in perfect condition-sealed for $250 so I have ZERO complaints. I had a hard time figuring out how everything would come together for a 2007-2010 Elantra but below are all the items I needed that made for a perfect install. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this unit and setup and could not be happier. It looks great, it has a REAL volume knob, Apple CarPlay is kick a** and I have a backup camera mounted to look OEM!I HIGHLY recommend this unit!Components needed for a 2007 Hyundai Elantra install:Wiring Harness:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001HU4BEI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Backup Camera:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BL3VKB1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Dash Removal Tools:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0131VN420/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1Double Din Dash Replacement:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G1586FQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1Parking Brake Bypass:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VKQ6ECQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Double Din Mount:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014IIMVG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1**For a 2007 Elantra I did not need the FM antenna plug converter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0052IJDFS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s04?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I believe you need this for newer models (2009-2010)**I also upgraded my reverse lights to LED's so that I have an ultra bright view at night:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D7823TM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Great for basically any interior!
I purchased a 2004 Lincoln Town Car Ultimate last summer and have always wanted to put in an aftermarket head unit to go with my subwoofer, but for a long time I couldn't find anything on the market that I thought was subtle enough to match the interior of the car. However, the latest version of the XAV-AX5000 looks perfect; almost factory! I highly recommend this unit to anyone who drives an older luxury car who is looking for something that isn't mostly shiny black plastic riddled with accent lighting, over-the-top knobs, and futuristic font choices.Disclaimer: I haven't experimented with a lot of the features of this unit; I don't use satellite radio at all and rarely listen to AM/FM, but from what I can tell they seem to work fine. Lots of preset options for the radio.Pros:- The dimmer dims the screen A LOT. I don't enjoy driving some newer vehicles at night because I find the screen distracting, even at their dimmest setting - not so with this one. Also, when the dimmer is switched on, Android Auto goes into a "night mode" where the screens in Google Maps, Waze, and whatever audio you have playing use darker gray/blue instead of white (see attached pictures).- Physical volume rocker and fast forward/rewind buttons. Makes it a lot easier to control while driving instead of stabbing at a touch screen and hoping you hit the right spot. They're illuminated, but they also dim with the screen dimmer.- Backup camera capability. If you're gonna get one of these units, get a $30 camera to go with it. It's well worth it. Also, you can have it display on the screen while you're driving down the road, which is kinda fun.- The capacitive touch screen works really well. No more repeated stabbing at a mushy resistive screen; this is one of the other reasons I bought this unit.Con (yes, singular, and a minor one at that):- You (currently) can't have custom wallpapers beyond the 6 or 7 that are included. Doesn't really bother me too much because the green one perfectly matches the green on my gauges, but it would be nice to be able to have options.

Works great in an old Ford Econoline van
I have an 87 Ford Econoline converted for offroading/overlanding. I have long looked at 1-din units with screens trying to find something that would fit correctly in my van's dash. The space is tight and the area is perfectly vertical with overhang at the top. Super awkward. But this radio was the perfect solution and I couldn't be happier.Words can not express how unique this product is. I have yet to find anything else that attempts to provide dynamic screen mounting. Thankfully Sony also made a generally good radio to go along with it.Pros:- Clean and effective interface- Good sound quality- Modern feature set including Android Auto and Apple Carplay via USB- Amazingly adjustable display mounting- Vibrant and responsive touch screen- Decent USB connectivity featuresCons:- I dont have XM and I'd like to remove the menu icon but can not- Limited bluetooth range, I used to walk around the van with my phone in my pocket no prob- No audio input port and no CD playerNotes:- It took me a while to figure out why the parking break wire was relevant. Android Auto requires that the parking break is set before you can configure it. I haven't had any functional parking break wiring in decades. If you're in the same situation, you just want to ground that wire.
