Change Your Mindset; Change Your Life
Has someone or something convinced you that you aren’t smart enough or talented enough to live the life you imagine? Would you like to increase your performance in any endeavor, from being a better person to winning an Olympic gold medal? Then Mindset Secrets for Living is the right book for you. If you are not living the life you imagined, it's because someone or something told you that you are not talented enough or good enough, and you believe it. I read Mark Minervini’s two previous books on stock trading, but I resisted reading this book because I felt burned out on “Mindset Books”, but I’m happy that I let go of my preconceived notions of what this book would deliver. When I began reading this book, I felt that Mark believed in me. As I read further, I was empowered to believe in myself.Mark will take you on a journey of self-discovery and teach you how to access your own personal power to improve any area of your life, such as your career, hobbies, sports performance, and most importantly, your relationship with yourself. Mark delivers on the promise that he will teach you How to Bring Your Personal Power to Everything You Do.His writing style is refreshing and chock full of wisdom, stories, anecdotes, and scientific studies that make it a refreshing read. Mark doesn’t just give you philosophy; he gives you tools for applying the principles and lessons to everything you do, mainly to the limiting beliefs that hold you back and keep you trapped in cognitive dissonance and self-sabotaging behaviors.Mark doesn’t share philosophical messages he learned from the myriad of books on the market; he shares the empowerment principles he used to overcome poverty and limiting beliefs, to become a legendary stock trader, competitive marksman, successful businessman, mentor to world-class traders, the author of three best-selling books, and accomplishments too numerous to list.Mark uses the latest scientific discoveries on how our psychology becomes our biology and how we can tap into these discoveries to rewrite the biology that keeps us stuck in repetitive, unproductive, limiting patterns and how to nurture our finest qualities so that they will grow. He taps into modern-day psychology and neurology, such as the Reticular Activation System, and how to use the RAS to work for you instead of against you to point you toward opportunity and success. You will learn the Seven Noble Truths: 1. Wiinning is a Choice 2. You Own it All 3. Great Achievement is a Process 4. Every Result Contains a Lesson 5. Willingness is More Important Than Desire 6. Records are Meant to be Broken by People Just Like You. 7. It’s Never Too Late to Become the Person You Always Wanted to Be.My only criticism of this book is that there is so much information that it could have been written as Mindset Secrets for Living, part 1 and part 2. That said, I will read this book repeatedly.

This book will empower you in trading, and in life. But don't just read it. Apply it!
This is really a GREAT book. Mark Minervini has written two books specifically devoted to trading: Think and Trade Like a Champion, and Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard. His third book is actually a series of interviews of some of the best traders around: Mark, Dan Zanger and Mark Ritchie. All three books are "must read" books.I have been trading since 1996, and have read a lot of trading books -- my book shelves are loaded with them. But at some point, you've got to realize that the QUANTITY of knowledge is not even relevant to profitable trading. It is the QUALITY of knowledge, and the FOCUS of that knowledge, that makes the difference. Minervini's work is very focused. Practice what Mark preaches, and you are on your way to getting better results. But the trick is in actually following the method. It's human nature to overthink things, and to fall back on bad habits. And let's face it -- if you were getting the results you actually want, then you wouldn't be reading this review. You'd be writing your own book.Mindset Secrets for Winning presents the type of insight and information that can be applied to every aspect of your life. This book has opened my eyes to the power of thought...and of habit. How you think directly influences the things that you do. And the the things that you do ultimately become habits. The truth is that we all have a choice in how we think. But the ugly truth is that most people do not actually make a conscious choice. Their thoughts are automatic, and can often be self-defeating. Mark shares methods that made a huge difference in his own performance -- in and out of the stock market.I can tell you that the things I've taken from this book are things that I can (and will) apply to my personal life, including relational, physical, emotional, and even spiritual. Living with intent. And with conscious focus on maximizing my potential. As for trading, I know that all the great techniques and methods in the world are completely worthless if you don't follow them. The vast majority of traders not because they can't learn to trade. They fail because they can't learn to manage the biggest enemy of traders: The mind. This is really a great book for non-traders. But if you are a trader, and Mark's other books resonate with you, then this is something you need! You're not going to learn how to buy breakouts, where to put stops, or how to pick stocks. But you will learn how to optimize the trading machine that is inside your head. And if you just remain true to the concepts, methods and processes explained in the book, your results will improve.(And by the way, to be honest, I can't say that this book has already made a difference in my life. I've just finished reading it. Now the work begins! Now I will be applying what I've learned. Knowledge by itself is useless. Applied knowledge is priceless.)Dan FitzpatrickStockMarketMentor .com.

Yes, you can do it
In How to Make Money in Stocks, William O'Neil explains a breakout style of stock trading, used by Jesse Livermore and many others. In Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard, Mr. Minervini gives instructions on how to implement such a system profitably, and he includes his own modifications. He has a clear, almost conversational writing style, and covers a myriad of situations with charts and examples. I also highly recommend the second book, Think and Trade Like a Champion.I was (still am) very new to stock trading when I read these books. They helped me immensely. If you are curious about which of these books to buy, the answer is buy both. They are not repetitive. Think and Trade Like a Champion adds finer detail on what is covered in this book. I didn't realize how completely clueless I was about this until I read these great books. This review is for his third book, Mindset Secrets for Winning. It is excellent, as well. If the first book describes the rules of the game and the second details what to do to be great at it, the third explains what prevents someone from winning and how to overcome those obstacles. This is not a perfect analogy, and I am sure Mr. Minervini could have said it better! (Thank you again for writing these books.)
