The perfect forever toy. Fun for ages 3 to 50! UPDATE: 6 years later, and my kids still love this.
You will note that my age group above does not include 1 or 2 year olds. This toy is FANTASTIC for just about any possible play scenario IF the child is at least 3 years old for girls and 4 years old for boys. I bought a green one for my son when he was 2 years old, and it pretty much just sat in the corner, unloved for a while. I bought a blue one also for my nephew who was 2.5 at the time, and his mom (my sister) put it in the get-rid-of pile about 4 months later. Luckily I was there to swipe it before she took the pile to the thrift store. Now that my son is 4, these two bilibos are the bee's knees. He sits in one to spin, it becomes a boat for his animals, it carries sand or water outside, and is a great mud mixing bowl. He can string a rope though the holes and pull his toys around the yard on the grass. He uses it as a basket in which to throw balls or beanbags from a distance. Overturned, it becomes a cave for his dinosaurs, or a mountain pass for his trains. He balances on them, uses them as stones to cross a raging pretend river. It is his shield and his helmet. My one year old daughter likes to sort things. So I put an assortment of small toys in the bilibo in the morning, and she will pick them up one by one, inspect them, and then put them back, or put some in one bilibo and some in the other. I have a feeling she will start using the bilibo more when she gets into the doll phase, at about age 3 I assume. I am kinda excited to see what she might make of this toy. I plan on getting her a pink one. Three bilibos are always better than just two.UPDATE: My son is now 10, and daughters 6 and 3. They ALL love these bilibos -- I think we have two now, but I will be getting a third soon.

BUY THIS - kids really really like it.
I cannot say enough good things about the Bilibo. We have 2 little grandsons (actually 3, but the eldest is 12 & they don't make one big enough for him) - The younger two - ages 1 & 6 got a blue one and a green one. These toys have been chairs, stepping stones, frog jumping bases, target bowls, toters of all small things that little boys love - IE rocks, sticks, Legos, Hot Wheels, bugs, food (not with the bugs of course) Turtle shells, Mountains...you name it...Oh and yes they love to sit in them, spin in them... These simple toys allow a child to utilize their own creativity, which is a Godsend in this electronic age. Kids their age are already bombarded by too many electronics. Bilibo also offers a smaller set of Bilibos in a smaller scale -think building blocks Bilibo style - which I intend on purchasing them as well. Our 6 yr. old grandson has ADHD. He is also wickedly smart & creative but sometimes needs a short break. Sitting in his Bilibo, rocking,spinning...allows him to re-focus his attention quickly so he can work on and complete his school work with glowing results. They have SO much fun in them that I think Bilibo needs to make larger ones. I know a Grandma & Grandpa who would love to take a spin in one.. just in case they are listening!

My 3 year old and 16 month old like them...
We purchased two of them, one for each child, for Christmas (6 weeks before this review). My daughter (3 y) didn't quite know what to do with it so she filled it with her other presents. My son (16 mo) immediately tried to sit in his. They had several gifts each, and these didn't really seem to stand out at first. Later on that day I put one on my head like a helmet and that just cracked them up. It also seemed to open them up to playing with them.Since then they've put them on their heads, used them as makeshift chairs, used them as "steps" for a bridge. They've used them as baskets to carry toys, books, clothes, and stuffed animals. They've placed them two of them together to make a sphere. I'm pretty sure they will find more uses as the weather gets better and they go outside.I can't say that these have stimulated imaginative play more than other items they've played with. Pretty much anything they've done with these they have done with cardboard diaper boxes. But these are much more durable, the colors *pop*, they look cool, and the kids play with them almost everyday unlike some of their other Christmas toys.

How can a piece of plastic be so much fun?
I ordered two of these for for my twin 3-1/2 year old sons. The price made me hesitate for quite a while, but after reading lots of reviews I decided to buy two of them. I liked that people said they were nearly indestructible and that a child can find lots of creative uses for them. The boys are REALLY having fun with them....so far they've sat in them and spun on the floor, used them as helmets, footstools and stored toys in them. It is even a form of entertainment for them (when mom makes herself dizzy sitting and spinning in it!) It's not QUITE big enough for me, but it is still lots of fun and I was impressed that I didn't break it. The boys' little friends also had fun with them when they came over, and I have a feeling their mom might be buying a few of them for her own children! My kids are very hard on most of the toys they receive (and most toys they receive simply are not made well and break in a short time), and I'm convinced they will have these and will be playing with them for a long time. I would consider even buying these as gifts......
