This book is a throw back to the way life used to be. the patterns and designs are beautiful and remind me of stuff animals from the 1950's and 60's. Love these and can't wait to make stuff!

Love this book. Lots of great designs. Some patterns are not quite accurate,though.

I am an experienced seamstress and had no problem putting the unicorn together today! She's very cute, adorable really. I also sewed up two halves of an apple, but haven't finished that yet. I'm excited to naked the cat/mouse and several other dolls.Important tips:. clip seam allowance, close to seam (don't clip seam...😊), on curves and trim off points.Don't stuff to the tops of arms and legs, leave about 1-1.5 inches unstuffed. This lets the limbs move more freely.After turning each piece, press seams on arms, legs, ears, and where nose meets face, and body.Stuff firmly, try to stuff so that there are few wrinkles, but don't overstuff... find a pleasing balance. Tips will be useful for all projects.So far, I'm excited about the projects in this book. I copy the patterns on a copy machine, cut them out and clip pieces for each item together and put in a large ziplock with the book. This preserves the original book. I also identify projects that I think will be cute if they were smaller, and copy those at a reduced scale (like 50%). Just understand that smaller toys can be more difficult to assemble.Don't be afraid to try! You can pick up fabric remnants at thrift, or marked down at fabric stores, old sheets, shirts, and fat quarters can be pretty inexpensive so go for it. 😘
