It's a Leatherman.
There is no doubt Leatherman builds quality products. This K4 is no different. It is well made. I purchased it because I liked the idea of a separate tool for opening packages verses using the regular knife blade, which I prefer to keep sharp for other uses. I am happy with this as a pocket knife. I took one star off the "Easy to Use" rating because the one-hand deployment of the knife blade is a bit awkward. The K4 is wide at the end from which the secondary tools can be excessed. It then tapers down abruptly at the opposite end the knife blade opens to. This makes it difficult to deploy the knife blade one-handed. I can do it but so far not on the first try. Perhaps it would work better for someone with bigger hands. At any rate I like the knife and would recommend it.

What I have been looking for in an EDC knife forever.
Everything is a compromise. Sure it doesn't have my favorite blade shape, and I still have to keep my Leatherman Wave and bit-kit close by, but they hit a home run here. For years I've been carrying a lock blade and a Swiss Army cause I just don't like carrying a full size multi tool as my main blade. This is as close to perfect as anyone has come. It has needed cleaning to keep the tools working smoothly, but it's very straightforward to disassemble and reassemble!

Mixed feelings about this attempt to fuse a one hand knife with a pocket knife.
I'll admit I'm a sucker for the idea of a knife like this. A nice full size one-hand knife, but with a few tools from a pocket knife. I am often overwhelmed by the number of tools shoved into pocket knives. When it really comes down to it, I actually use, can-opener, screwdrivers, scissors, and maybe a tweezers. So most pocket knives are overdone. Most multi-tools are over done, most one-hand knives are underdone. The magnetic 'architecture' of this knife is definitely nice. Everything is smooth. Easiest one hand knife that doesn't have assisted opening I've yet used.But.This thing is really too big... I wanted it to be smaller. One the one hand the large handle makes this knife very comfortable to handle and use. You have a lot of control over the blade. But that same handle just makes it too big. It is not at all comfortable in your pocket. It's the size of a Leatherman Blast or Surge. My most carried knife is an AG Russel Featherlite, and a leatherman Micra on my keychain. You just don't know the Featherlite it's there. This FreeK4 on the other hand is like a brick in my pocket; it's as a large multi-tool. It shifts in my pocket into unfortunate orientations when I sit and I have to adjust it all the time. It prints really bad.I'm not into sheaths, so my conclusion is that it's just not an everyday everywhere knife. I still like it---It'll wind up somewhere. That being said. This thing is well made. If you need an especially large blade, it's probably for you.

Great build quality as usual
It’s a bit heavy and bulky but the blade is razor sharp and the rest of the tools are super high quality. Only complaint is the other tools (scissors, screwdriver, etc) are a little clunky to open.

High Quality Tool
I have carried this for a few months and it hold a great edge, super easy to sharpen and very sharp, like a scalpel. The tools all work well and the quality of this tool is excellent. I would recommend this for everyday carry if you actually use a knife in your daily life.

Neat concept, poor execution
Had high hopes for such an innovative knife/multi-tool.The Good:- Nice design on the release of the tools. The latches that lock tools into place are well made. The Bad:- This thing is really thick. Would make more sense to carry an actual multi-tool for how thick this thing is. But dimensions are advertised, so not a huge con.The Ugly:- The blade is awful. It looks like a five year old was grinding this knife. The belly is not even and has noticeable ridges. Looks way overground and the blade is awfully thin. Feels like it would chip or break with any moderate use beyond cutting paper. Edge looks a bit crooked as well. Also there is no polish or stonewash on the blade after it was ground. I've seen better grinds on overseas made knives under $20; this is made in Portland, by the way.- Cost. This is way overpriced at $90 for the poor blade quality. Under $30 might be a fair price.
