I will never buy metal spring rods in a discount store ever again. These are very affordable and sturdy and stay in place. They are easy to use very functional. I put them on every window in my classroom.

We use these spring tension rods within the window frames with blackout curtains. Splendid. The rods are sturdy and were so easy to use after viewing the video. (I am elderly, handicapped. It is hard for me to reach up high for any length of time and I get dizzy standing on a chair - vertigo.) I think it took maybe 15 seconds each of the five rods - including the initial twisting. Just remember to make the extended rod an inch or two wider than the space, so you can carefully shove it into place and it'll be sturdy. I have had these rods with curtains up for two weeks, opening and closing them each day and they hold splendidly. The color is more of an ice white than my white window sill, but it's not noticeable because of the brightness of the light coming in the window, and/or the curtains covering them. The tension rods feel thick and sturdy, as if they will last years.

Get them between surfaces, then tighten, then remove and tighten a little more, then hang the unit back and you will find this works. It is solid for such a small light weight rod. But... the end caps will make black marks on anything. And the rubber is weird. Like cheap. Had they used a better rubber than doesn't mar the surface and would be a little stickier to the surface than this cheap stuff, this would be a 5 star. Think cheap sneakers that smell funny kind of rubber. What a shame. Otherwise, you hang it right, it can hold throwing a fairly wet towel from across the room onto it and not knock it off the walls. Impressive strength, if you hang it correctly.UPDATE: Got some medium duty round felt pads, 20 pack, and placed on ends of rods. No more marring the surface with rubber marks when moving them around to adjust them. This solved the biggest problem and now they really hold.

Arrived on time. Inexpensive. Work perfectly.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Really easy to use and were durable hanging some fairly heavy drapes.

These aren’t expensive so I wasn’t expecting them to be really high quality. The metal is on the thinner side, and they have a small diameter, so they’re not going to hold anything with much weight. This I was expecting. I have no issues with it.What I can’t get behind is the fact that the the tension is such poor quality. It doesn’t “hold”. When setting it they often spring back and it took several attempts to get it to stay the right length with enough tension to stay up. The tension itself is also very weak. Between this and the fact that the ends are a little more plastic and a little less rubber-like than what they really should be (so the grip isn’t great), they just don’t hold up.I’m using most of them at an angle between the rungs of a staircase to keep the cats out of the living room. They actually work fine for this since they’re not holding anything up, and they’re more vertical than horizontal, so gravity is doing 1/2 the work.

I bought this brand years ago but when I needed more, I foolishly went with another brand. My curtains keep falling down and I finally searched my Amazon orders and found these again.Just put them up and I am oh so happy.You just turn these to adjust. The bad ones are a two part system that never hold.Yay!

These are great but I measured 3 windows wrong so they were too big. My bad 😔
