Great unit for a quieter environment.
I am very happy with this unit. I was looking for a Bluetooth and aesthetic upgrade to the factory radio on an older 18’ Tracker Party Barge. Once paired initially, my phone connects automatically every time, as one would expect. Operating the unit couldn't be simpler. We have a 60hp motor and we cruise around at low rpm most of the time. If you’re looking for a unit that will crank at full throttle, you’ll want to keep looking. Also, at least on my boat which is about 10 years old, so the wire harnesses were not compatible and the colors on the Boss unit and the colors on the Tracker didn’t match. So I needed to cut, twist old school, with all-weather wiring caps. If this is you, take pictures of the old wiring before you start cutting so you know what color original wire matches the Boss wires.

Great sound system at a low price
I wanted to add good sound to my bay boat without spending $500. I installed this unit (with 2 speakers included) nd added 2 more 4" Kicker speakers on the dash pointing back at me as I drive. With the two smaller speakers facing me, I can hear the music fine while running. I could not hear the music well while running with just the 2 speakers on the sides of my center console. Bluetooth works great off my phone and radio station reception is fine for local stations with just the antenna included with the unit. Yes, the display fogs a bit but dries with time. This is typical for this type of device on a boat.

Great deal and value
Great deal and value! I was a car audio junky when I was younger and I'm highly impressed and pleased with this unit. The radio reception, Bluetooth and the sound quality (which has good bass and clarity) are awesome. Installed the unite in my speed gauge slot since my gps has the speed on it and the speakers on the sides of the center console. Ran an online fuse (20a) from the battery to power the unit. Took about 30 minutes to install the unit, run the power wire, cut the holes for the speakers using a plastic/ metal blade with fine teeth on a jigsaw to cut the holes. Put paint tape down first to prevent splinters and chipping of the fiberglass. Solid deal. Highly reccomend. Pat is a 20' that I fish out in the gulf in Naples Florida.

Fix for popping noised when motors running
It took me about 4 hours to install my Boss boat stereo & speakers. The hardest part was choosing where i wanted the speakers to be installed. Once everything was installed I noticed a loud popping sound whenever the boat motor was running. At first I thought the unit was damaged but after doing some reading online & watching a few youtube videos I discovered many people having the same issue. The problem is due to bad grounding. I had my stereo grounded at my main bus bar with my other equipment (fish finder, lights, usb charger... & for some reason that didn't work. The noise seems to be from the engine ignition system (spark plugs) I ended up running a ground wire straight from the unit to my battery and all the noise stopped. So happy with the stereo so far!

Faceplate condensation repair DIY
So my radio fogged up after I turned it on and bench tested it for about an hour and a half. I was really disappointed. But being a professional mechanic I took the thing apart all the way down to the faceplate. It's only about 18 screws. Then I dried all the water and condensation, then I took my heat gun and got the whole faceplate and circuitry up to about 140 degrees. Then I closed it most of the way but put a straw for an air duster in there and purged out all the air and humidity. The air inside of an air duster is very dry. Combined with the heat I shouldn't have any more condensation. I closed it all back up and bench tested it for another four hours. No more condensation. Then because I'm going to use it on a jet ski I put extra E6000 sealant on the back where the wires come through. It's already sealed pretty well but a little extra never hurt nobody. The only complaint that I have is the factory should be doing this Purge. The other thing to note is this radio Maxed out at 170 degrees Fahrenheit. With no cooling fans and not much fins for cooling I don't know if the longevity on this radio is going to really last. But it held up to four hours of very loud play in my garage and didn't overheat or breakdown. So I'm installing it. I will update if it breaks down. If this hasn't been updated it still working well. Today's date is June 18 2020. As far as the sound it's pretty good once I put the speakers in the jetski. On the bench it doesn't have much base, but that's to be expected. Overall I think it's going to be plenty loud enough for my needs with the entry lamp and the sound quality is pretty reasonable. By the way it doesn't tell you that it comes with an antenna. And it also has 10 ft of speaker wires. Would have been nice to know that before buying that extra stuff. Oh yeah and it also has the hardware to mount the radio and the speakers. They're all Aluminum and Stainless Steel. It also has a gasket to go behind the radio and the speakers. Well I hope my review helps. Easy replacement at 1/7th the cost
I just installed this in my 2012 Hurricane Sundeck's dash. It replaced a high-end radio costing 7 times as much and sounds just as good. Plus this one has Bluetooth that instantly synced to my Android phone. My old radio did not have weather radio channels either; this one does. My old radio had a 3 inch diameter remote control in the dash and the head unit was installed down where the marine head is located on the port side. I was able to move that wire harness from port to starboard and up into the dash. I removed the plug-in connector from the old stereo and soldered it to this unit, wire-by-wire. All the wires matched color-by-color. The Boss MGR350B slipped easily into the existing 3 inch hole and no trimming of the bracket was required. Then I was able to "plug and play." My neighbor was impressed with the sound. So far, I can highly recommend this unit.
