Excellent product
I bought these for my tea cup yorkie, Gabbana, she had chronic kidney disease. She really liked them and so does my chihuahua, Chanel. My little Gabbana passed away unfortunately almost 2 weeks ago. My little Chanel carries them everywhere now especially outside.Thank you for caring about our little dogs, babies.I highly recommend this product, it serves a great cause and purpose.NurseShawna

Now my little dog with kidney disease can have yummy treats too!
These treats are safe for my doggie with kidney disease. He loves them and I can see why. They smell good, not like so many treats that smell old and stale or like chemicals. They’re the consistency of Milkbone so they’re hard but not too dense. I break them in half or thirds for my tiny little guy.

I Am So Thankful these Exist!
The media could not be loaded. When my baby boy was diagnosed with stage 2 ckd, I had to stop giving him everything he loved in life. Ok. That's an exaggeration. But his entire way of eating had to be changed. It was confusing to know what was ok for him to have and what was not. I'd read ten articles and get ten different answers. My little boy, Chewie, was used to getting a greenie bone every night before bed and they were no longer safe. Hard on the pup, and hard on the pups parent! Finally I decided we were going to turn this negative into a big positive. I started cutting up fresh, organic fruit that we would share in bed before going to sleep. He loved it.A friend of mine in London knew Chewie's diagnosis. Knowing how much I love him, she sent us a box of Mattie's treats. They are perfect!! Chewie absolutely LOVES them! These treats are hard, though. Chewie needed me to break them up for him. This was a problem: my hands are getting a little arthritic. I started placing the treat in a small container and adding just enough bottled water to cover it. Just let the treat soak in the water for 5-10 minutes and it softens up just right! You can easily break the treat apart with your hands, and it's much easier for little dogs with smaller mouths and missing teeth to eat! Also, ckd dogs require moisture rich foods, so this is another reason to give it this added hydration. This treat change, along with a food change to Dr Harveys Canine Health, looks like it's helping! Chewie's kidney values (BUN and creatinine) were too high one year ago. Last week we redid the blood work and did a UA. HIS RESULTS ARE NORMAL on BOTH. His appetite is great, he's playful, and I couldn't be more thankful! We are repeat buyers of Mattie's treats and highly recommend them!

Dog likes them
2nd time purchase. First time was great. This time the product was damaged. The bottom of box was crushed and opened. 40% of the treats were in crumbs. Health:My dog is on a special kidney diet and she likes them. Despite the bummer package would buy again. I would recommend Amazon to ship in a box not a bag.

Cannot recommend enough!
My senior dog had diabetes and was suffering from kidney failure, so he couldn't have any sugar or salt. I was SO GLAD to find these cookies! Even in his last days as his kidneys stopped working and he felt yucky and had no appetite, he would eat these. I think it's like soda crackers for humans when we're sick. I let him eat as many of these as he wanted in his last days since he didn't want anything else. Cannot recommend enough, especially if your dog has health issues!

Mattie's Treats have saved my Great Dane
Is that an exaggeration? Probably not. My eight-year-old male Great Dane (Odin) was recently diagnosed with early stage renal disease. So he is now on a renal diet, and his favorite treats were no longer allowed. Although he enjoyed things like Watermelon - he was craving crunch. He didn't understand why he could no longer have his old faves, and that broke my heart.I tried a $25 box of treats. Although they are probably great for a smaller animal, Odin just wasn't happy since they were slightly larger than a postage stamp. I continued my search and stumbled across Mattie's treats and gave them a try. First, their price point is awesome. Second - who can resist a heart-shaped treat?! Not this girl. Most importantly, Odin LOVES them, and he is definitely a happy camper again, happily crunching on his new favorite. And if YOU have a smaller pup - the treats can be broken into smaller pieces (not an issue in my house).I reached out to Mattie's owners, expressing appreciation for their amazing product. Can you believe that they replied? I love that every purchase is helping Odin and helping a small business. Many thanks to Sean, Heather & Mattie!

A no go for my little one.
My small dog has kidney failure. Looking for a bit of variety for her treats that she can enjoy between meals. Anyone that has a dog with kidney failure knows eating is a challenge every day. Smell and texture of their food plays a big factor when they do not have a big appetite and teeth issues due to the illness. I knew these were hard biscuits when I ordered them and assumed I would be able to soften them with warm water like I do her Hill K/D, dry. I placed a few in a baggie and broke them up into smaller pieces before soaking. Sadly, they never really softened up. Also, no smell. These biscuits are a no-go for my dog. Guess I am sticking with Fruitables and Hills prescription treats for her.
