Yes-It fits the older 150 sserial number Security Six!
YES! This grip will fit the older model of the Ruger Security Six with 150-xxx serial number. I recently acquired an older 150 series Security Six with the original walnut grips. The ergonomics of the grip were pretty bad, especially using .357 ammunition. The grip was simply too narrow. I started the search for something after-market but since this frame design was phased out in 1974, it was almost impossible. This frame has a 'square butt' design and the follow on model (serial number 151-xxx) had a rounded butt. There are some older grips by Herett and a few others available if you search ebay etc. but they were $75+ and were wood. I talked to a half dozen people who do custom grips and there too I was looking at the same cost. Even then, of the 6, only 3 would do the job and all of the grips were wood, bone etc. and no rubber. I personally wanted a larger rubber grip.I gave the Pachs a shot after reading multiple forums from folks who had done the same thing. Here's how it worked for me. Remove the screw and original grips. At the base of the metal frame butt, there is a metal roll pin with a smaller roll pin inserted inside of that. The smaller pin just slides out. The larger roll pin then needs to be tapped out. I put some WD-40 and Rem oil on the pin and let it sit for 30 minutes to loosen it a bit. Then I tapped the roll pin out with a small hammer. Once the pin was flush with the frame, I used a flat tipped tap (you can use a nail and flatten the tip a bit against a vice) to 'lightly' tap the pin the rest of the way out by catching the inside lip of the pin inside the hole of the frame. While I was doing all of this, I had slipped the grip inside of a heating pad on high, just in case I needed a little flexibility during the fit. I put the grip on and seated it. It is a snug fit, which is good, then I put the screw in. Charles Gudruth is right in his review. I had virtually no gap at the front (less than 1/32) and a bit of excess (3/8 ") on the frame rise just behind the hammer where the web of your thumb would be. This can be cut flush with an exacto knife left as is. I left it as is as I liked the additional recoil support. The grip itself is first rate. Rubber is not too hard or soft and the checkering is comfortable and not overly aggressive. I have medium hands (6', 172lbs) and it feels perfect to me. The difference when firing was very noticeable and gave me much better control for follow on shots using both .38 and .357 ammunition. I would highly recommend the product. Another great product from an equally great manufacturer. Product arrived in 2 days with Prime - thanks Amazon.

Fits 150 prefix serial numbers
As others have Already said, These grips will fit a 150 serial number security six with very little modification. All I had to do was tap out the lower roll pin after I removed the factory walnut grips, And from there they fit very well. If you are picky, you might want to Dremel / cut some excess rubber that will be sticking up by the hammer on top of the grip, but that is not necessary. I trimmed it with a box knife blade, and then lightly sanded, fits perfect. Awesome grip, night and day difference over the smaller factory ones.

Fits perfectly & feels much better than the stock walnut grips
Arrived today and took just seconds to put on my Service Six. (Important: You have to remove the 5/32" by 3/4" roll pin on the bottom of the grip frame if you are replacing the stock grips, something that isn't mentioned on the package. The pin is there to give the stock two-piece grips two points of attachment. That is not necessary with a one-piece grip like the Pachmayr. ) I spread the seam at the front of the grip open about 1/8" and it slid easily onto the frame -- literally one second to install and another few seconds to tighten the screw. The result was a perfect fit all around -- I do not have any of the gaps around the edges that other reviewers have mentioned. The seam (which is on the front and bottom) is completely closed with no unevenness or protrusions. The grip feels far better than the stock grip. It's noticeably larger front to back, side to side, and top to bottom, and fits my average-sized hand better. The "feel" is really nice -- it's "grippy" without feeling rubbery. I also like that it covers the backstrap and gives some measure of padding to the web between thumb and forefinger as well as putting some rubber between the trigger guard and my middle finger. I expect my hand tol be much more secure and less likely to shift when shooting higher-recoil .357 loads. I will say that this is a utilitarian grip, not a showpiece. But it looks OK and, more importantly, it does the job a good grip should do. I highly recommend it.

Didn't Fit My Security 6
My Ruger's serial number is above 151; it has never been modified in any way; and after 30 minutes of struggling to get these grips on it; I gave up and returned them. Even squeezed as tightly as I could with both hands, there was a noticeable gap in the front (trigger guard side). Because the grips could not be flattened against the handle, the screw did not (could not) line up with the nut buried in the opposing grip. BTW, UPS balked at returning the grips, because they "do not ship gun parts".... ? I got a little fussy with the manager and was told he'd ship the grips, but he was very hesitant. If Amazon tells me they didn't receive the grips; believe me, I have a receipt proving I gave them to UPS. Disappointed!!
